Irritating Classmates

I know we've all seen the threads about those classmates that makes us want to stick a knife in our head, but I'm at wits end at this point. We're only halfway through the program, but the amount of noise, drama, and childishness from some of them is giving me headaches.

There's the girl that has a question every three minutes who also has the family member who has had every known disease. She's also the one who has always says, "Ok, I thought the book said _________ so on the test what's the answer going to be?"

There are the two girls that think they're cool and in some kind of reality show but actually come across as spoiled, overly needy brats like the trash you'd see on Jersey Shore. They're the loud ones that always have to comment in manners such as "WOW, OMG, or WOAH." They actually say the letters O, M, G.

Finally, there's the girl who thinks we're all a close knit group who is seemingly unaware of the cliques and factions going on. She's our designated classleader who doesn't lead. I'm not sure why a school program needs a student leader, but that's an issue I can't change I suppose.

I've been yelled at, cursed out, spit on, and fought with, but the amount of drama that I mentioned above is far worse than anything I ever experienced from drunks and crackheads on the streets. I know people are diverse, but I can't even stand going to class anymore because it all needs to be reigned in.

.... just to clarify.... lol... I was being a bit sarcastic about the eye rolling... however it was meant more of an "oh boy, here we go again" eye roll, not an "I'm too mature for you" kind of eye roll!!! I believe there's a difference!!! ;)

My eye rolls are more of a "will you finally shut the blank up" nature. :)

Yes, I thinks some eof those classmates in every program. One classmate was out of control with the questions and relating to every disease process. The instructor politely to save her questions for after class. There were about 20 pairs of eyes rolling including the instructor. Sad to say she left last semester due to medical leave lol.

Wow....seems like everyone has a few classmates that can be irratating.....there are a couple, for instance the I-know-everything-because-I-worked-in-such-and-such-department girl, who by the way, works in every department and has a comment to the sound of "oh yes, my patient this and my patient that...from the ER, psychiatric ward, PT dept. surgery etc...NO KIDDING she does it all! WOW superwoman...and the same girl....comments out loud, and always says...yes, uhhuh, I understand, etc.....AS IF she is the only one in the class....and the instructor is just talking to HER....by the way, her voice is annoying! ugg.....good to vent....:smackingf yeah!

I guess the culminating statement here is how can the people we've been describing be so oblivious to it?

we MUST be all in the same class lol. I am in my last semester in NS and you would think we would all be a little mature this late in the game but NOPE!! We have people in our class that think they are "all that and a bag of chips", it's like get over yourself! They speak up in class and let everyone know their opinion but heaven forbid if anyone else way to speak up they will shut you down. We are all in the same boat here and it shouldn't be like this. Today in class people were freaking out because in the syllabus it said we were covering Neuro in chp 45 but it was really in chp 46 and people just had a cow about that. Shuuuuuut up and go in the back of the book and find the correct chapter. There are so many things I would love to say to many people in my class but we all bite our tongues because really, what is the point? I am counting down the days till graduation haha. Whew, that felt good to vent

I don't know how some of the people in my class find their way to school every morning much less get anything done during the day.

Case in point, we had fluid and electrolytes last semester. We had it last week. We had it again today. Three different classes. So far we've been tested twice over it. No big to me as I've had it before in life. I love it. Today, a girl says to the teacher "What is this intercellwhatever and inner sissial stuff you keep talking about? Where is this fluid coming from? I've never heard of it before. It doesn't make sense. I thought we had blood not fluid."

SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

You know what I love the most is when we are talking about sex, breastfeeding, bodily fluids, or anything that has to do with nursing, all the immature (shouldnt even be in nursing school) girls in my class either snicker, get all red in the face, or yell out "EEEEWWW!" Realllllly???

Ya gotta admit that the cauliflower lady parts and member pictures (genital warts) are really freaky looking. Better to "Ewww" in class than with a patient, right?

The discussions we've had in some classes (psych in particular) would probably make your head explode. They weren't the...easiest...discussions to listen to, but everyone had their opinions, and it was best to get it all out with the professor facilitating. Yes, there was some tension, but it was soon forgotten.

In an old classroom, not in the nursing section of the college, I gave lectures that had windows to the hallway. Got a few startled looks from passersby when those slides were up!

I stress that you need to be professional and calm when those subjects come up in real life; so a few EWWs  in class are okay if it helps get it out of their system.

I don't think most of us are oblivious to it, we just don't care what you think! :lol2:
