Irritating Classmates

Nursing Students General Students

I know we've all seen the threads about those classmates that makes us want to stick a knife in our head, but I'm at wits end at this point. We're only halfway through the program, but the amount of noise, drama, and childishness from some of them is giving me headaches.

There's the girl that has a question every three minutes who also has the family member who has had every known disease. She's also the one who has always says, "Ok, I thought the book said _________ so on the test what's the answer going to be?"

There are the two girls that think they're cool and in some kind of reality show but actually come across as spoiled, overly needy brats like the trash you'd see on Jersey Shore. They're the loud ones that always have to comment in manners such as "WOW, OMG, or WOAH." They actually say the letters O, M, G.

Finally, there's the girl who thinks we're all a close knit group who is seemingly unaware of the cliques and factions going on. She's our designated classleader who doesn't lead. I'm not sure why a school program needs a student leader, but that's an issue I can't change I suppose.

I've been yelled at, cursed out, spit on, and fought with, but the amount of drama that I mentioned above is far worse than anything I ever experienced from drunks and crackheads on the streets. I know people are diverse, but I can't even stand going to class anymore because it all needs to be reigned in.

"Thanks, I do plan on having a great day. Anyways ..."

Sometimes you just have to laugh when the cat claws come out :D. Life is too short not to do THAT!!

Paco 69- LOL! I agree with you! DEFINATELY not worth stressing over.

You mean you looked at her with disgust and she didn't immediately see just how wrong she's been and beg your forgiveness? Astounding!!!! I'm sure that someone, who means nothing to me at all, looking at me with disgust would make me rethink all my life's biggest choices...

I haven't read the whole thread, but I wonder if one of the posts speaks about this annoying classmate that turns around and looks at her when she answers questions in class.

Sheesh, life is far to short folks...

If you don't like what you are reading, go somewhere else. You just seem foolish. :lol2:

I just found the post amusing so I responded....not sure what the big deal is.

Lol reading this thread has definately taken the edge off of finals week!!!!

By the way, I sit quietly in the back and I think everyone is annoying..Those that think they are so much better then others and act so irritated when someone asks a question because they are way to cool to ask, those that act so stupid they cannot phathom the syllabus has changed "oh my!" those that do ask stupid questions all the time, those that make "comments" not ask dumb questions, those that wear pajama pants to class and those that are irritated by that, those that feel they are in such a ethical profession that they become 2 year olds and must tattle on joe blow because he may have itched the side of his head but he may have been looking at the girl next to him's answer ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

How do I unsubscribe from this nonsense> It's one thing to vent about others in general but to personally attack someone is pathetic. I started reading this thread initially but then stopped after reading multiple petty complaints about each other. Stuff like this sickenings me to my stomach. I mean come on folks is it really that serious, get real and get a life. Maybe if some of you did not spend all your time and energy focusing on minute things, you actually would be able to enjoy nursing school. Take the good with the bad and move on.

Peace and Blessings to you all!!!!

lol I'm cracking up at the person who keeps saying "Life is too short!! Just deal with them! They don't care if you think they're annoying" over and over and over and OVER and OVER again! Let us vent, and there's no need to post your opinion 15 times to various people's personal responses.

Honestly, there is a guy in my class that is just crazy with the questions. I started tuning him out about halfway through. There are the girls who constantly go out and post pics on Facebook. The amount of binge drinking that occurs in one of the cliques is atrocious. There are the overachievers and Facebookers. The people with jobs who seem to get whatever they want for a clinical site because they work there. There are STILL some people I've never interacted with before in my life but I'll see them taking a test once during a semester (our class is 80+).

lol, it's just funny how the archetypes play out in various programs. I'm removed from nursing school cliques, but I do have a few nice acquaintances that I can count on to look out for me and eat lunch with, etc. I can be quiet, but many people do come to me for information or want to work with me for assignments because I do a good job, so I'm a bit of an overachiever and people know that about me. I keep my hand down in class though, lol. I keep it professional with my classmates and I haven't really gotten too close to anyone. I have a large family and a lot of close friends outside of nursing school, so I wasn't going into it thinking that I would be making lifelong friends.

I sit quietly in the back

Unfortunately, at my uni, "quietly" and "back" do not go together!!! If I sat at the back I'd never hear a thing - that's where everybody sits and chats... so fricking annoying!!! I don't know why some people bother to come to class!

The thing that saddens me is that these people, or clones of them, are going to be my future colleagues (probably), so I just suck it up and think of them as a sort of "training ground".... *sigh*

Peace and best wishes to all :smokin:

Yeah, I stay away from the back. Front row for me. It is like wearing blinders .. just me and the prof. No distractions from classmates who do everything and anything but listen to lecture.

Class has been over for a couple weeks now. We are doing our preceptorship now. THANK GOODNESS. It's bitter sweet. I miss seeing a lot of people frequently, then there are a few that I am like MAY I NEVER RUN INTO YOU AGAIN! They are just such bitter nasty people that bring such negativity to class. They have practically ruined our joy and excitement for our pinning ceremony with all their negative remarks. So glad to be done with them!

Oh God, you must be in my class.

We have three that sit there and just repeat everything the instructor says and then go "Is that what you mean?" Shut up already. She just said that and repeating it doesn't make you look smarter just because your "participating".

Then there's the guy that sits up front and mumbles 300 questions during lecture. The instructor answers them but we have no idea what she's talking about because we can't understand what he asked.

There's the girl who was like 10 minutes pregnant when she started having to take breaks in clinical to eat something every fifteen minutes and refused to pick up anything heavier than a band aid because she didn't want to have a miscarriage.

And worst of all the guy whose uncle is an anesthesiologist at the local hospital which he seems to think makes him a physician by default. Insists on wearing his lab coat to clinicals and won't correct anyone if they refer to him as "doctor".

Ugh, I cannot wait until this semester is over and I am finally done with all this foolishness!!

O-M-G!!(Ha) Your post made me laugh out loud! Hysterical!
