Hiya all this is my first time on here, I am a RN &RM passed NCLEX,VisaScreen, I-140 and awaiting US embassy(london) interview. But I wish to know what exactly happens at the interviews & medicals and what if you have a pre-existing medical condition(ie Diabetes). As I am anxiously waiting :uhoh3: !!!! Does anyone know or can enlighten me!!! Thanks

:chuckle how come you have ca license? have you been in the us before? :uhoh21: :rotfl:

thanks for that info!!

i originally started everything by myself 2001, then sat nclex 2002&2003(passed), did my visa screen, got my ca licence& florida endorsement(rn&rmidwife). then aprroached hospitals who basically told me to join an agency-so i did in may 2004 the agency has done everything else:emplyment offer,uscis,i-140.(they are very good i have recommended them to all my family and friends who are rn&midwifes) now just waiting:rolleyes:

That is true you can't work as an RM only an obstetric nurse in US. but I still applied for my RM licence in CA(i was surprised I got it). Like you I am now doing specialised nursing(had to get out of midwifery-unsociable hours , on-calls, demanding women-but i love midwifery as a profession!!!:p )

I am with Stateside nursing agency- they have been v good so far. what agency r u with?

How come you were issued California License? Have you been in the US before? If not then I won't believe that you have the license. OK????????

I feel I should jump to the defense of novb33 here. It IS possible to obtain a US nursing license without having been in the US previously. You obviously haven't done your research, have you? OK ????

You are not required to have US citizneship to have a US license.........haivng a license to practice and having a working visa that permits you to work are completely two different things.

Not sure if you really care or are just trying to pick a fight.........and that is not acceptable here......... :o

You can actually take NCLEX exam inh Hong Kong, London, and Seoul now.... :angryfire

Actually it depends when you applied for the licence, you either needed a SSN or ITIN Number and I had a ITIN number(because I have a US bank account since 1999). Now you can only get your licence with a SSN ok !! So please say something positve now my dear. Salesnurse where in the states are you looking to go and speciality(if any)?

Been for the medicals today in Birmingham. It all went smoothly and was well organised. Took 4 hours but there were 4 of us and it was expensive for the imms that we needed £215 :crying2: , but expected.

The Dr was very pleasant and had a good sense of humour. They will either post it al to us before we go to London next friday or they will send it direct.

I will let you know how the next stage goes too.:)
