Hiya all this is my first time on here, I am a RN &RM passed NCLEX,VisaScreen, I-140 and awaiting US embassy(london) interview. But I wish to know what exactly happens at the interviews & medicals and what if you have a pre-existing medical condition(ie Diabetes). As I am anxiously waiting !!!! Does anyone know or can enlighten me!!! Thanks
Hi What did they do - I believe they take an x-ray and take bloods - do they tell you the outcome of everything before you leave??? What did they do to the children???
They did height weight BP, BMI, Checked immunisation history and all PMH. Full clinical examination. Blood for HIV and Syphllis results take a few days to come back. CXR for TB.
Children same as above except they don't need the CXR and bloods if under 14yrs.
You get a pack with all the details sealed sent to you to take to the embassy or they post it direct if not sufficient time.
I needed MMR, Husband MMR and Diptet. Children Hep B.

Do they contact your GP for a PMH or do you just provide the info yourself?
Thanks,
Tina
You provide it. But you have to sign it is true information!
Hiya thanks for all the info! My medical is this week and i hope the children are all up-to-date, they have had Hepb vaccine at my GP all others should be fine. The Drs/Medicals are just looking for HIV & TB- what about pre-existing conditions ie Diabetes, Hypertension, etc? Are you taking your children for the interview in London?

Do kids have to have three Hep B vac? Did your GP charge you for giving it to your kids?
I am to old to have had the MMR vaccination but I have had all the illnesses :uhoh21: do I have to have titres to prove this?
What if your BMI is too high?
listen I have enough to worry about without you asking this question :rotfl:Have had 3 attacks of gallstones in the last 6 weeks , paid to have ultrasound done and looks like gall bladder needs removing. Had no problems previous

Hi, my kids have had all three hep b injections - dont think they need it for the embassy (but could be wrong there) but they do have to had at least one hep b to go to school i.e. at least started the course of 3...my GP didnt charge luckily :rotfl:
I didnt have the MMR either and have had Rubella & Measles...but to be on the safe side had titres done to prove it - just need to get the GP to do me a print out or a letter now to confirm..I havent long had theses done and it turns out I needed a booster for Hep b myself...got that checked and will need another one in 5 years...
I am hoping that the BMI bears no prblems
I have ITP and from what I can gather from others existing illnesses like that arent a problem as long as it isnt contagieous - it just means your medicla insurance may be higher
