License via Endorsement (Internationally trained)

Hi everyone!

I have had my RN license in George (by exam), California and South Carolina and now I'm applying for a license via endorsement for Texas.  I have worked as a RN in various states since 2002.  BSN from Australia. I have taken both the CGFNS exam and the NCLEX.

I've been asked by the texas BON to upload my degree/transcripts which I have done and waiting on a review. Has anyone else been asked to do this before and what was your outcome? They are also asking for a verification of my nursing license from Australia which is well over 20 years ago.  I've never been asked for my degree or australian nursing license so I'm just a anxious over it.  Thanks for any input.

Hey Snuggle,

I have similar background BSN from Australia. I wish I can help but I am still in the process of getting my first liscense. Would you be happy to share the outcome? Thanks very much!

Hi there,

Yes after 6 weeks I finally obtained my permanent single state Texas license and had no issues regarding my education or having australia BON verify my license from over 20 years ago. Again however this was via endorsement as I've been licensed in 3 other states prior to Texas.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for your reply! It's such a good news you got your TX license! I will certainly follow your steps later on. May I ask during your trainings in Australia, did you have theories and clinicals in OB and peads? I'm asking just because I don't have those and I was wondering if that would affect the outcome.

Thank you, Em
