moderator note: this is a continuation of a previous thread that was very long and split by member request. this thread is primarily for current student discussion. there is another thread of faq: https://allnurses.com/distance-learning-nursing/isu-faq-thread-365878.html
we had to take micro, stats, math, biology, couple of humanities, etc, etc. maybe she meant that's just the one specific to nursing, as in in addition to the rest of the gen eds? anyway, good luck on both your applications!
Just FYI for anyone having difficulties with finding an acceptable Chemistry course; I found an online course (with some help from Joelle at ISU) with a lab component that meets all the requirements. The professor is awesome (so far) and the course is manageable. Weber State University Online. Chem 1110.

Thanks for this info. I have been looking for something online. What was the admissions process like? This would be the only course I would need to take. Any info you can offer would be great .. pm me if necessary!
Thanks again!!

It's been a bit since I actually enrolled; I believe all I had to do was notate on the application that I was a nondegree seeking student and they did not require me to send in transcripts. It's a bit pricey, but totally worth it; quizzes are open book and there are only four exams; none are cumulative. And the labs are pretty straight forward. Any other questions, don't hesitate to PM me.
I'm so thankful that I've found this thread. Thank you everyone for such valuable information. I'm still unclear on certain things, but it makes me think ahead because I may apply for the Fall 2010 class. It all depends on the time frame. I'm willing to complete the Phase III in 18-24 months, but anything longer than that I'm not willing to do. I already have my Bachelors degree, and all I would need would be Phase II which are the challenge exams, and also Phase III. Again thank you everyone.
Hi all!
I just took my NCLEX-PN, did the Pearsonvue trick and got the "good" pop-up box. So I believe I passed.
My next goal is to study for the 4 Phase II Challenge exams to get into ISU.
If all goes well, I plan on starting Phase III Fall 2010.
Also, if there is anyone from Northern California who is interested in buddying up for this program to study, please PM me.

My understanding is that you cannot complete in 4 semesters anymore. The school has a restriction now on which nursing courses can be taken at the same time, and the way it's set up is to take 5 semesters to complete.
