The preceptor I had for psych is Lynn and she's the clinical nurse specialist on the unit. Hopefully she's still there. She's very excentric and very cool. I like her a lot. :) Very low key psych unit too. Nothing too wild which was nice. I have a couple of RN friends who I talked to about precepting for assessment but their licenses were inactive so Suburban found a nurse educator for me on the oncology unit. She then let me do med-surg there too. Her name is Teresa. Anyway, the contact they have on ISU's list is the lady I went through. She's fantastic. Initially they were a little confused because the assessment class mentions some pretty in depth stuff like in the eye exam and they had no one to teach me that (looking at the back of the eye, etc). We found out, though, that we didn't have to do that part so it worked out fine.
I think I did phase 3 in 4 semesters if I recall. I did have a couple of prereqs that I did along with my nursing classes though.
