Here's a new sticky for students involved in online/distance BSN programs through Indiana State University. Enjoy!
If you've taken any college courses over the years, you might want to send your transcripts to ISU. Joe, the guy who evaluates transcripts is awesome and works every avenue to get you credit for those classes. Just an option that can possibly save you time and $.
Thanks! I'll work on that. I'm all for anything that can save me time and money!!
Well, I met with the TCN rep in my area....total salesperson. The program seems great and I'm sure it'll work for some people, but I feel that I can gather resources on my own for way less money. The price for those modules are pretty steep. Anyway, his tone immediately changed when I didn't want to sign on the dotted line, but that's okay. I politely thanked him for his time. I just wanted to see for myself what they were all about. I got a nice outline of what I needed so I'm working on that now. I plan to CLEP out of two classes in November and hopefully two in December. Then I'll have three more to do until I can do the 4 nursing modules in Phase 2.
Speaking of the four courses in Phase 2, does anyone happen to have the list of books that they use for those courses. I think I may have to go that route since the modules seem to be hard to come by. If you don't mind sharing, I'd appreciate it. I want to be on the lookout for those books now so I can have them when I need them.

The books they use *are* the modules although if you still have your books from LPN school you can probably use those.

Once you are enrolled at ISU, you can obtain much ge through the Indiana College Network--not the same as The College Network. They have over 3,000 courses that translate.

The tests are from the modules from TCN. If you don't pass the challenge exams you have to wait 6 months before you can take it again. I know it seems expensive but the tests I have taken were just like the study modules from TCN. I am now in the first semester of the nursing program. Some of the upper level courses can be taken online through Indiana College Network once you are enrolled in the program.
Thanks for info Lorraine.
You are right about getting info together early.
I plan on starting the Nursing program Fall 2009. I just applied to ISU and got all my transcript and test exam scores gathered and sent. I will begin to apply for my clinical affliation process after the first of the year and take my TEAS Test while taking an Algebra class, Computer class and doing the 4 CSM. 304L looks like the first clinical rotation. Can anyone tell me a little about that?
You are welcome to PM me or e-mail me if you would rather.
Thanks a ton.

Hi sandiegonurse,
Congrats on your decision regarding ISU. I am in the Los Angeles- Southbay area and am applying for Spring 2009. I did all of my pre-reqs at a CC when I got my A.S.
