Here's a new sticky for students involved in online/distance BSN programs through Indiana State University. Enjoy!

You are funny...my friend April, who is also in our class, told me that it is really hard...I'm still working on finishing my Stats for this week...frequency distribution tables....ugghh and then I am starting on 424....sound like a fun Saturday huh? To be quite honest cardiac stuff is one of my least favorite things:rolleyes:

Cardiac is one of my favorites. My absolute LEAST favorite is neuro. Ugh! Hate neuro. Endocrine doesn't particularly amuse me either but I can tolerate it. Cardio and respiratory? I pink puffy heart them. lol!

Specializes in ER; CCT.
although 450 is really project intensive, the material itself is not hard at all (ie. not much study time)

I'd really advise waiting until the first test to make this conclusion about 450.

Specializes in Med Surg.

Hi guys,

Regarding English Comp: Excelsiors 6 credit English Comp with essay does count at ISU. I just received my DARS and it is in there. I also spoke with ISU before I took the exam.

Have you taken 450? and if so have you graduated from ISU or are you about to graduate?

Have you, um, checked the new 424 assignment she just posted? I actually enjoy the challenge (esp because its critical care stuff) but I still had a little TIA when I saw all of it. Last week we had to learn all the hemodynamic stuff...this week it's all the EKG stuff plus ACLS algorithms. And a discussion board. And 25 (not really) websites. Did somebody say flashcards??? lol! :heartbeat:redbeathe:redpinkhe

I want to apply to this school but I want to attend IN PERSON, I was considering traveling to Indiana and living on campus. Is anyone else doing this? if so, is it more competitive to attend in person than online?

Also, when I was on their site, they said the pre reqs that you need are Human Anat 1&2, Psychology, English and Sociology..are there more pre reqs?

There's a lot more pre-reqs but they should be listed on the site...?? I think that's a great idea to go in person if you are close enough. As much as I like the flexibility of distance education and choosing my clinical sites, I think I'm going to do an on campus program for my MSN. Most likely at Hopkins.

You'll have to keep us posted on what the on campus version is like. The sim labs seem like they would be a lot of fun!

I actually called and spoke with someone from ISU, and named off the pre reqs to get accepted and she confirmed that that's all you need to get into the RN program. She said that there is no waiting list. I am in Michigan so Indiana is not too far for me. It's really a toss up between Wright University and Indiana State, I'm going to apply to both. If I get accepted I'll report to you all what it's like on campus:wink2:
