  1. I'm training right now at a job. Not only am I new there, but I'm also a new grad. Is it ok for the nurse training me to dump a hard patient on me and then leave me? I didn't take any break/lunch, and I also stayed an hour after the time I was supposed to be off. She left as soon as our shift was over! I understand that I'm licensed, but is it ok for her to dump a pt on me who required special attention and then leave me there??
  2. i know this is probably old news, but i just want to make sure. as long as i have the minimum grades and pre-reqs, i'll get into the program? what if i failed 2 classes previously but have passed them since. will that affect my chances of getting into the online program? thank you!
  3. Has anyone here taken their pre-employment exam? I need some pointers because I'm taking it next week and I'm very nervous
  4. Congratulations!!!! I love your icons by the way! My fav is the synchronized dancing!!!! HAHAHA, COngrats to you again!
  5. i ended up just signing with NSO. $48 for the first year doesn't seem so bad. thanks so much for the good advice! i love this site! haha
  6. i'm making about $30/hr here in CA. no benefits though and it's part time.
  7. unfortunately, am not in the position to own a home-yet. thank you though! i'll keep that in mind for the future. i appreciate it!
  8. i feel like such a newbie for asking this, but when i went on NSO, it told me the total due was $48 at the most. On PL, it told me my total was $114 at the most. is this per month or for the whole year?? I hear that state farm has their own liability? does anyone have coverage from them? am i better off going there, or places like NSO and PL? Thank you!
  9. I'll be working at an Developmental Day Program. Similar to an Adult Day Program/Center, but for the developmentally disabled. There's an RN on staff, but I won't be working when she is. I really think malpractice insurance is necessary-ESPECIALLY for this job.
  10. Hi all! I just found out today I got hired :) It'll be my 1st LVN job. I need advice on what to look for on malpractice insurance. Or is it all the same? Thank you!
  11. Thanks for that advice. BTW,how much did the students sell their CSMs for? The advisor told me that it will be 1500 for the for modules. Do you know anyone who had trouble getting the complete modules? Do students also send e-mails about selling their TCN study notes for the GE? I'm having a hard time finding Intro to Computers and Gerontoloty. are you in phase III already? Is it true you take the exams on the computer based on an honor system? I have a hard time believing that, but that's what the advisor told me. Thank you!!
  12. thank you so much for those great tips! greatly appreciated!!
  13. Hi Guys. First off, I met with a rep from TCN yesterday, but I'm not going to sign with them. My question is, for those who've already taken the CLEP/Dantes/Excelsior. What is better study material? CLEP books or TCN study guides? And in phase II, how do I get the 4 nursing modules? I didn't see any on Ebay Thank you!!
  14. Has anyone done the 30 unit option and then went on to get their BSN? I was wondering if I should do that and get finished right away. Then, I can work as an RN with a certificate while I wait to get into an ADN or BSN program. If anyone has done the 30 unit option, was it hard for you to find a job after? Thanks for the help/advice!
  15. i'm trying to apply using their website, but i can't find the application. do i have to actually go there? or is there a link i can follow? thanks!
