I'm done too. Finished my last preceptor day yesterday. It was at St. Joe's and was an awesome experience. Kinda weird doing what we've learned to do so far - it's all coming together, you know?
I've been offered a job at Phoenix Children's and am thrilled. I got the area and days that I wanted. Can't ask for much more than that.
Congratulations to all those graduating with me this December. It's been a fun ride and glad it is over. I'll be glad to be doing this AND getting paid for it for a change!:biere:
To those in the pre-req's stage....hang in there. This board is a good place to ask questions and get smart on the current issues facing nursing. Look around to the other posts in other areas. You never know what you might run across.

i finally finished my preceptorship and am finally done with nursing school. never thought i'd get through it at times, it's been a rough long road. my preceptorship was at a hospital that was the farthest hospital in the valley from my home, but it was great, the nurses there were fantastic!! i ended up staying at my parents house for the preceptorship and now i'm playing catch up at home!! i've had a couple of job offers and have decided that chandler regional is the best fit for me right now. i was offered a position on nights as a staff nurse in l&d and i feel very fortunate to have an offer in the field i want to work in. i'm planning on taking an nclex study class in about a week and then hopefully the nclex by the end of december (provided my school gets my paperwork over there in time). i still feel like i'm caught in a whirlwind trying to get all of this done, and during christmastime, but hopefully after the new year things will settle down and i can finally add rn after my name.
i 'discovered' this board while doing my pre-req's and it feels sort of weird to be finally done and to not have to worry about school anymore. for those of you that are beginning your journey through pre-req's and nursing school, just hang in there. at times it may seem unobtainable, but if you just keep at it you'll look back and realize that it really did pass quickly.
take care everybody, and
congratulations graduates!!!
