If you won the lottery would you still work in health care?

A fun what if question, we used to toss this around on night shift.

No. Not at ALL.

I'd buy land, build up a farm, buy some animals, become totally self sufficient and off the grid from society altogether.

The more I'm around them, the less I want to be around people.

Specializes in Mental Health, Medical Research, Periop.

Are we talking Mega Millions? I would honestly spend most of the rest of my life traveling. I would like to open a few homeless clinics around the US as a goal. That would be my only work in healthcare. :D

Heck No!!!! Sorry, I am not gluten for an abusive environment that does not treat us with respect.

I guess you're looking for a gluten-free workplace(Sorry, couldn't let that one go.)

I'd never touch a leaking fecal bag, carry a bile-filled canister, recharge a purulent JP, get strangers' blood on my shoes, wash a 500lbs patients whose skin folds are harboring small rodents ....etc, etc, etc...ever again!

I'd travel and write.

Absofreakinlutely NOT!

Specializes in Home Health.
Yes but I would work 3 to 4 days a month versus the 13 I currently work.

Not even 5 minutes!

I would volunteer in healthcare with the mentally ill (never enough resources) and work with the public education system.

I’d volunteer, leaving the job for someone who really needed it.
