I took my NCLEX today and I think I failed :-(

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi everyone,

I took my exam today and I came out feeling totally empty. I got to 176 questions before the computer shuts down. I felt like I was getting every one of the last 10 questions wrong before it shuts down. Plus, I kept getting a bunch on infection control question, drugs, and priority questions ; It was a nightmare, I am so depressed. Did any of you take it recently, if yes how did you do...I am paying to get my result tomorrow and I know I wont sleep tonight...another thing, is there an RN chatroom where one can go and talk....I need some moral support.:cry:

Wishing you good luck.

Thank you for all of your support. I passseeeddd. LOL

Congrats @ Thatagirl :yeah:....I took mine on monday and I still don't have my results, so I'm anxious...

The pearson vue trick works....I passed...after 4 excrutiating days I finally got my result.

Thank you everybody for keeping my hopes up lol...I made it!!!!!!!!!

Well, I hope you passed. I took the NCLEX so long ago that it was still on paper and took 2 days to complete... 2 VERY LONG days. Plus you didn't get results till almost 2-3 months later. Try that on your nerves. Luckly I passed and I felt I had passed when I left. I wasn't a good test taker in school but for some reason, I felt good on my NCLEX and did pass. Now many moons later, I'm still in nursing. Good luck.

I felt the same way when I took my nclex 15 years ago. I had to wait about 10 days to learn wether I had passed. I was sure I had failed and left the test in tears (I went into the test very confident, I always had tested "well" and I felt prepared), anyway, I passed, so I don't think you can really gauge how well you did, I have heard of a lot of other people that felt the same way. Best of luck to you.:wink2:

Could someone direct me in the right direction..how and where did you study infection control and prioritization??

Specializes in ICU.

I still remember from five years ago getting a lot of prioritization questions on my NCLEX. I also thought I might have failed, (almost) everyone feels that way. You probably didn't fail, but even if you did, you just pick yourself up and go back and do it again. They don't specifically teach you prioritization in nursing school, so I advise nursing students to learn the basics well, and then they can figure out what is a priority from that. Good luck to you.

Hey, I was thinking the same thing - 2 days to do the test on paper at the Coliseum in NYC, then a few months waiting to hear. I can still remember receiving that envelope and making myself sit down and not rip it to shreds...I hadn't doubted I'd passed but it was still always possible I hadn't. The nerves were frayed! Yes, many moons later (quite a few more than yours' actually, moosemadness), and many roads travelled in nursing since then!!

Congratulations to the first poster, btw!:yeah:

If anyone lives in Florida you do NOT have to pay to get your exam results. Here is a link to get your exam results for FREE. As soon as PV says your exam results are ready, then you can go to this site and select your exam type (RN) and enter your DOB and last four of your SS#. I REFUSED to pay to find out if I passed or failed. I thought, why in the world am I going to pay money to find out I failed, lol. Oh well. Passed anywho. So, pass this along to your Florida friends.
