I think it is time for the MCC hopefuls to start count down

:redbeatheOkay MCC hopefuls, we are under the 45 day mark. Hopefully within 30 days we will at least have our ranking!!:redbeathe

42 days until letter day.....how are you feeling?

Hey Kimberly, I sent you a friend request on FB :D also good info on where to get our health checks done for a great price!!!!

I'm so over the moon right now, a friend that I just got re-connected w/ by FB from HS was accepted into OCC's Nursing Program! :nurse: I kept on coming on this website and keeping her informed of when OCC's letters were sent out. Well, I sent her a note saying people were getting them last Monday. So, to tell me she finally got the letter and got in... she wrote of her issues with the mailman!!!! *****!!!! Basically she was stalking him, sitting inside of her door listening for the rustling of the mailbox. She would then spring into action, grab the mail. But she KNEW they needed a signature... But never did the mailman knock. So, Saturday she gets her mail and there is a note "Sorry we missed you" that was dated for the THURSDAY prior... needless to say she goes running down the street in search of the mailman... no luck, she gets in her car, driving up and down all the city streets, no luck. She goes to the Post Office and speaks with a Supervisor who can't find the letter or the mailman. So, she had to wait until Monday. She's there at the crack of opening and they don't have the letter. She finally waits for her Mailman, and opens the door on him and starts going off on him. :chuckle He's so like "It wasn't me!". But she caught him in his lie when he had to go back to the PO to get the "letter" (read, road around in his mailtruck to pretend he went there), and 30 minutes later had her letter and her congrats!!!!!

So, hopefully we don't have her mailman!

Lol Mich, I feel like you're our little private investigator with all of this insider info ;) You should change your handle to "MichyMich, P.I." and every time you log in, the theme song from "Magnum, P.I." will play!

I didn't get a letter like that (thank GOD!) and I feel awful that she had to go through that. Not to sound crass, but it's her own fault for not having 12 credits. Unless, of course, she went to Baker and got screwed out of having the correct amount of credits. Then it will be Baker's fault :D

What color are the MCC nursing scrubs? I hope not white - ugh. :p

I don't have a Facebook anymore, but I have a Twitter! :D

Has anyone called up MCC lately and bugged them about when the ranking is going to be done and the letters sent out? I tried and they said they could not give out any info over the phone...lol.

LOL. I'm a auditor by trade... so this my passion. Which is good in a Nurse, eh? My friends and family are convinced I should be a P.I. I love your idea about my title and theme song! :chuckle

Yeah...from my info, she went to WSU about 20 years ago, and they were late sending her transcripts or something like that, and they either won't or can't find her HS transcripts.

I believe the MCC uniforms (from the Dove Website) are:

  • All Students:
    1. Sailor Blue Uniscrub Top
    2. Sailor Blue Unisex Pants
    3. White Cuffless Lab Jacket
    4. A school patch for each top and jacket

Specializes in Home Health Clinician.

I registered for my religion class for summer. Last class I need to get in! I hope I get the letter soon!

That is just crazy, the sets are $78 a piece and $50 for the jacket. I like how they get a color of blue that is just slightly different from the standard ceil blue so you can not get it at a normal store, you can buy the unisex ceil blue online for $9.99 a set and same thing for the jacket $9.99. I wonder how much the patches are.

If they do not let you use financial aid to get it I am surprised that so many people can come up with all the money for the supplies. Don't forget white shoes. I know that Baker will let you use what is left of your financial aid balance during week 2 to buy anything in the store including clothing so I think you can get extra scrubs then.

I bought 2 sets of uniforms, 1 lab coat, 3 patches. It was about $230. At orientation, some grad students donated theirs. During a break, you could make a donation and get a set of scrubs. People got in line fast and they went quick. Its very expensive in the beginning.

No haven't called, but I'm giving them a week... but I was wondering the same thing. I can't understand why they won't tell you that they are ranking? Maybe she though you wanting to know your ranking... in which they won't give out over the phone (so I heard).

Thanks inspire! Will you need 2 sets off the bat? I don't know how clinical go, but if they were everyday, I'd want two sets. But, how nice that Nursing Grads donate their scrubs! I would be willing to at least donate and get a set.

I do agree with you Shannon, that is expensive and they should have chosen something that you can find for $9.99... I do understand that they would like us to look the same, but at the same time, a little less expensive would be nice!

As far as financial aid... I am in the middle of my application for NWLB... They told me I had to come back when I received my acceptance letter. I know they pay for misc. expenses in the program... I'm hoping that is one of them!

Go Gemberly!!!!! I wish MCC had their comparative religions class during the summer! That is the only other class outside of the Nursing core classes that I need.

Michymich,

MCC does offer their comparative religions class in the summer. MW 10-2PM & 6-10PM OR TTH 10-2PM. Registration for everyone starts today. Hope this helps:D

*Slaps forehead!* I totally missed that one! I tried to get onto webadvisor (because I don't have my book with me) and it's having "problems". I was able to register on Tuesday because Macomb started their new priority registration.

Thank you mac212marco for you input!!!!!!!!:D

1500= 1 lab day per week

1600= 1 clinical day and 1 lab day per week

1700 through 2800= 2 clinical days per week

i originally bought two pairs but am down to one due to a tear. i wash them twice a week but i don't find that to be a problem. if you can get a free pair that would be nice, but like someone said they go fast. make sure you order them asap, they fit weird and may need to be returned.

I disappear for a few days and so much "chatting" has been going on!!! I'm bummed about the scrubs. I really don't like blue, nor do I like paying $78 for something that can be bought for sooooo much less. Why do colleges have to torture us? First the letters, then the uniforms, what next?

szyman, for the list of labs and clinicals, are there any other days to be in class or is the rest done online? I thought it would be a lot more in class than that. I was told by someone in my Micro class that most of the 1500's were online, but she wasn't sure about later in the course. I'm trying to figure out what to do with my kids when I'm in class (see I'm being positive) so if the classes are only a few days a week, I won't have to worry about daycare or babysitters too much.

Has anyone received their GPA letter yet? My hesi is rounded down on webadvisor too. It took me from a 95.37 to a 95. I hope they don't keep it rounded, because it seems like it would be important in ranking.
