I think it is time for the MCC hopefuls to start count down
I would call the nursing dept and ask Teri. Im sure she could give you an answer.

I think it is time for the MCC hopefuls to start count down
From my understanding, it will follow the same format and timing as last year.

I bought 2 sets of uniforms, 1 lab coat, 3 patches. It was about $230. At orientation, some grad students donated theirs. During a break, you could make a donation and get a set of scrubs. People got in line fast and they went quick. Its very expensive in the beginning.

Some of the books I bought we haven't used yet, so you might not have to run out & buy them all. I spent at least $700 before the 1500's and bought used when I could. Plus, I got them from the bookmark which is cheaper than MCC. I also heard some will change next Aug. Some are a must, but others you might not need at least in the beginning.

about mcc's HESI
Right, some people I know last year retook the test even though they had a decent score (over 90%). The problem was GPA, so they took bs classes to bring it up. That's why the change to admissions will be a good thing.

Anyone considering other options in healthcare if you don't get accepted into nursing
I hope I dont come off the wrong way, but if nursing is what you really want to do then do it. You should look at the criteria of the nsg program you want and do whatever it takes. I applied at MCC one time. My goal was a 4.0 in the prereqs and score at least 92% on the Hesi. I sacrificed many things b/c I needed to study, etc. to achieve my goal. IMO, it's competitive but NOT impossible. Many of my fellow rn students did the same thing and some may have taken a longer, but they made it. So, while many blame admission tests, schools, instructors, advisors, etc. take responsibility for your actions. Are you doing everything necessary to make it into the program and be a notch better then the competition? I am not pointing a finger at anyone, but it seems many do not want to put in everything it takes to get there.

My 9 year old patient was raped and required surgery
I pray she continues to feel safe, secure, and happy. God bless you & your kids for giving her a chance to live in a home where she can be loved and not abused and afraid.

about mcc's HESI
No, but someone on another post here sd that was their score. But yeah, this is a great way to speculate if you got in. If you look back at the bottom five scores over the past 4 years or so (2 yrs ago scores were not avg), they are pretty consistent.

about mcc's HESI
You are right. So, if that's the case, last year a person with a 4.0 & 87 hesi would be in. (93.50 overall).
