...not correcting my coworkers (teachers and other staff) when they comment that a student without a hat "is going to get a cold going out like that!"
It drives me batty!
Anyone else? Anything that you have a hard time holding your tongue about when staff says something so blatantly incorrect? Do you feel the need to educate them or just let it slide?

You hold your tongue at that? I actually correct it!
haha! Nope, I generally do not! For the most part, these are educated professionals- I don't want them spreading false information.

I hold my tongue.
Everyone and their grandmother says stuff like that.
The kids come to school in lacrosse shorts in 20 degree weather. It won't kill them to wear a hat.

My younger brother went to high school every winter day, no matter what temp it was, in gym shorts. My mother tried everything to get him to wear pants. Nope.
He also rarely got sick. So, there's that.
Oh, you are right.
I just don't have the energy, and they aren't going to listen anyway.

Heh, I've never been one to hold my tongue. I just say to the student, "Oh, we know that doesn't really make you sick." And, yes, it's gotten me in trouble a few times....imagine that!

Never heard this one, I guess if you don't have cold, you resort to something else.
"Wear your galoshes or you'll catch your death of cold!"

My pharmacy student husband said to our toddler that she needed to keep her hat on or she'll catch a cold. I glared at him and said, "You know that's not how that works ..." Apparently all scientific knowledge goes out the window when you have your "parent hat" on!

I had a kid come into my health office telling me, "I got a flu shot yesterday and now my stomach hurts. This same thing happens to my sister too when she gets shots!" Nope. Try again, kid.
