...not correcting my coworkers (teachers and other staff) when they comment that a student without a hat "is going to get a cold going out like that!"
It drives me batty!
Anyone else? Anything that you have a hard time holding your tongue about when staff says something so blatantly incorrect? Do you feel the need to educate them or just let it slide?
Had a kiddo come in with a brutal headache, asked if she wanted to lie down for a few...not the answer she was looking for...
checked on food, sleep and nutritional intake and guess what, she went to bed at 2:00 AM. Had been up late for out of school activities. So, was mom surprised when I called her? Nope, not at all and came right over to pick her up.

I'm under he impression that our bodies aren't as efficient at fighting things off when they're not at an optimal temperature ...so I've always seen comments like those as not entirely accurate, but with a tiny bit of truth behind them.
I just had this discussion with my husband because our son walked to the bus stop about 200 yards in the pouring rain with no hat or umbrella today - my husband was like "He's gonna get pneumonia! I'm Like there is no peer reviewed research that being cold and wet makes you sick. In fact regularly challenging your immune system may just save your life!

I cannot seem to get it through a few of my staff's heads that the flu is NOT the same thing as a stomach virus or that antibiotics are NOT needed for every cough or that a kid with a cold does NOT need to go home since everyone in the class has already been exposed. I explain until I'm blue in the face and they just look at me and I can tell they just don't agree. As if I'm making this up.

I don't typically correct unless it's something off the charts with absolute ridiculousness. Such as telling a 3rd grade student the sticker burr that they had in their leg after falling in the grass outside actually has a small amount of poison in it which is why it hurts when it pokes you. No. It hurts because it poked you. That's it. Sticker burrs are not poisonous ma'am....
