Published

:balloons: I just found out that I got into the nursing program for Oct. 2006 @ Chamberlain College of Nursing in St.Louis formerly known as Deaconess College of Nursing. I'm so excited I will finally get to make a move towards my degree and hopefully soon be an RN. My advisor said that I will get my package next week. Good Luck to all that have applied & I hope to make new friends & see new faces in St.Louis.

Future RN, Carolyn

Hello,

This is for the Texas students. I'm currently enrolled in the eline program (TAMUCC/DelMar) and we have had a really hard time with finding clinical sites. I'm not sure what part of Texas you are in, but the hospitals in the DFW area have not been willing to let us do clinicals so far.

Make sure you are able to get a clinical site set up. I would hate for you to get going in the program only to find out that you cannot find anywhere to do clinicals. The school should be able to tell you if anyone else has completed clinicals in your area.

There is alot of paperwork and legal issues involved in getting a clinical site set up and it could take a while. Start now to avoid long delays in finishing the program.

If anyone reading this post is from Texas and knows of hospitals that are receptive to letting online students do clinicals there, please let us know.

I have been looking around and doing some contacting. I am a LVN and have offered to work for the company while in school then sign a contract after if they would sponser my clinical.... No go so far. i thought it was a good deal, but I guess not. This is crazy ..

I wish you the best in finding a site. I just wanted to make it known that in theory it sounds easy to set up clinicals, but in reality it is very challenging.

Congradulations---- to all that applied and got accepted onto (CCN) Chamberlain College of Nursing. I am in my 4th of 6 semesters--I really enjoy the online classes and hope that you all do very well also--you will make lost of friends both near and far--ttly

Hey everyone. My name is Erin. I have been a CMA (certififed medical assistant) for the last 4 years and want to become an RN in the worst way. I live in a small town whose prospective LPN program just fell through. I just discovered Chamberlain College and am sooo excited. I was told there will be openings for March. That will be great. I have signed up at the community college for A & P II and Nutrition for the Fall semester. From the looks of the curriculum at Chamberlain, I would need just nursing classes and microbiology. Anyone else plan on starting in March?

If I don't get in for October, then I will probably go to the March semester

Congradulations!!:yelclap:

Thanks For Your Reply.

let the church say amen 'cause babygirl is in there!!! (after finally handling up on her business) :thankya:

i was considering del mar here in texas but my chemistry wouldn't transfer and i really didn't want to take another chemistry so...chamberlain/deaconess here i am!

i think it's cool their online program has an lpn component. i'm thinking about sitting for nclex-pn while trotting right on through to rn. working as an lvn would give me valuable experience to succeed in the rn program.

thank god for distance education! :bowingpur :w00t:

i'm so glad once more i found this site.i'm also from texas and i'm applying to chamberlain.hope we get in together.

Does anyone know what states you can do clinicals in? Do you have to live there when you apply? Are these the only states in which you can get licensed then?
