I Cheated?

I scored a 75% cumulative on my entrance exam but my school requires at least an 80%. However, they still considered me because I have 4.0 GPA with 53 credit hours and I'm an honors student with a lengthy list of community service.

But instead of them just accepting me outright they instead gave me the options of either take an assement test and score a 80% or higher then be admitted to the program, or be wait listed for the next two years.

And because I did not want to get wait listed or wait another year to reapply, I chose instead to take the assement test and cheated on it because it was unproctored. I was the only person in the room testing and the lady who was suppose to monitor me left the room for some unknown reason for up to an hour. I don't think she knew that this was considered the "MCAT" for me in a way.

So while she was gone that whole hour I cheated my way through the test by using my phone and the internet and scored a 90% overall. I just received the call today after 6 days from taking test that I am accepted into the nursing program. The assessment test took place at another institution, so if it was not I would have never been able to get away with something like this.

I believe the only reason why the lady left the room because she believed that I had no electronics on me, there's was nothing in the room I could've used to cheat, and the computers I used for test has no internet as was only ment for testing and nothing else.

Then tell the school. If you want to be respected by nurses & be a good nurse tell.the.school.

Okay, I know now that is was very wrong for me to that and I only did it was because I really wanted to be a nurse so at the time I would've did anything to be it.

You only know NOW that what you did is very wrong? That is even more troubling.

Yikes, if you didn't know THEN that is was wrong...then maybe nursing isn't for you.

1: This reads more like one of those fantasy Letters to Penthouse (scandalous tales that were only true in the deluded minds of the damaged people who wrote them) than a confession of wrongdoing.

2. You don't decide if this thread gets deleted. I personally would like it to stay, if in the remote chance it IS true, so that it can be discovered by someone at that school in a position to recognize the OP. Nursing is a SMALL world.

3. Given the writing style and typos/misspellings, I seriously doubt this is an "honors" student with a 4.0 GPA. Really? Reads more like high school freshman, bored and feeling troll-y.

Counting down closure to thread in 4---3---2....

You have a 4.0 GPA??? How can you type like my husband who dropped out of 3 colleges but have a 4.0 GPA???

We will see how far she gets. Perhaps she will fail nursing school since she obviously did not know what she needed to know to even qualify being in nursing school. Or perhaps the NCLEX will be her down fall. We can only hope. Sorry but I can't say I wish you any type of luck.....man I think this is a first for me. Usually I always route for you all that struggle and pray people will pass and see their dream come true. First time for everything I guess because I don't want your dream to come true.

Yeah, I agree. I can't say I wish you luck either. If you were going to tell the school then I would. But since you are scamming them over, no luck for you!

Why doesnt nobody believe me and I plan on deleting this post soon.

I believe you. Unfortunately, I witnessed cheating in nursing school. OP, I think that you should really consider rescinding your acceptance into nursing school. You don't have to give the school a reason, let alone tell them that you cheated.

Nursing may not be suitable for you because:

1) You failed the entrance exam. Your brain may be wired for a different type of knowledge base.

2) You conveyed questionable ethics. You may have gotten away with it this time, but you will be inclined to cheat in nursing school. If you get caught, you will be kicked out and your transcript will be tarnished, essentially blacklisting you from higher education. If you happen to get away with it though, and cheat on your NCLEX, now we are talking illegal with criminal consequences. If you happen to get licensed there is a myriad of daily documentation that you will be tempted to falsify. Those that tend towards cheating and/or theft should steer clear of nursing as you will likely leave a shift in handcuffs some fateful day in the near or far future.

OP, allnurses.com does not condone cheating.

Also, if your BON finds out you cheated on this exam, you could suffer consequences later on.

We are closing this thread.

You need to decide what you are going to do.
