Hi!

Does anybody go to Hunter for Nursing?

I got accepted into the school as a different major but I am really thinking about trying to get into the program for next year.

Thanks

Tracy

Hi!

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, the CC that I will be attending this summer is not in the CUNY system. I am going to Nassau Community College on LI.

I think that it is the same so I guess I will wing it and take the course and cross my fingers that I didn't waste the money for the class.

NO!!! Never assume or wing anything with nursing. If you do that you will be making a huge mistake. What are you gonna do, waste almost $700 on a chem class just for hunter to say "what the hell is this". You can get the class evaluated at nassau community. You first have to get a printed description of the chem class at hunter that you need, then submit it to the chem department at nassau and they will tell you if its equivalent. Or to save time sometimes the chem dept or advisor at your school can call the chem dept at the other school and see if its equivalent. If not just go to nassau yourself. And dont forget whenever you are taking another class you need to get the appropriate form from the oasis office. Have it signed by the chem dept and get the class approved once you get it evaluated. Then you have to get the appropriate form from nassau also and follow their procedures. Make sure everything is legit and make copies. Do this fast because the summer session is almost here. Good luck!! :)

Do anyone who is in Hunter nursing now know that we have to wait till 5/17 the exact day to receive the letter???????????????? i am out of patient and so nervous:((

They say 'by' May 17, so I really hope it's before...why can't they tell us earlier? It's nearly Finals and the stress is doubled!

I have indigestion every day this week and couldn't sleep in some nights :crying2:

Good luck!

I GOT IN!!!

The letter came today...now I just have to reply and also pass MICROBIOLOGY with a "C" or better :)

Good luck everyone

Congratulations for getting in!!!!

I have a question about registering. I have a date of June 16 since I am a new student. Every pre-req that I want to register for are closing up pretty quickly. Do they ever add more sections if they all fill up?

Thanks and congrats

Those, like Chem and Bio with labs, hardly ever get added more section because of lab space, etc... Others like psychology...tried to overtally.

But for any classes, just wait till a week or two BEFORE the semester starts, usually people DROPPED them and some space will open up

However that is very RISKY and does NOT GUARANTEE that u will get in

But that is the only way I know and that how my friend got in Anatomy and Physiology II this semester...she did not get in, but got in later

So try hard using that eSIMs to register, in August check for open section to see if someone dropped the class

It is SAD but HUNTER is very crowded because it is a City school and the tuition is lower...it is a race just to get into pre-req class...so GOOD LUCK to u!!!

Hi!

I spoke to the pre-health advisor at Hunter. She was very nice but said that if I do not take Chem 100/101 over the summer I would not be able to apply to the program until Spring 2007.

I want to take it at the community college near me but I am unsure which course that the CC is equiv. to Chem 100/101.

Does anybody who goes to Hunter know where I can get this info? They only have info for CUNY schools available.

I would hate to spend the money and then have them say that course is not equiv.

Thanks

Tracy

Before you take the Chem outside of Hunter, you can go to the chem dept. and ask them. If they say yes, they will sign a form that will guarantee it for you. hope this helps.

Thank daisywill

I also apply to NYU as a backup...but it will cost me a lot, so I might have to take out loans

This year Hunter will take 80 people...not that much considering a whole lot of people applied

Anyhow, will know by May 17...right now I'm praying

I am graduating from Hunter-Bellevue in two weeks. I took all my prequisites at Hunter main campus, but also applied to NYU, which I was also accepted. However, here's the catch with NYU (besides the tuition) - when I looked over the NYU program, it was going to take me an EXTRA YEAR to graduate - different school, different curriculum.

I am curious about what people mean by a 2 year waiting list. If you are on the waiting list when you first apply for the fall and you don't make it, does your name get bumped off to the next year? That doesn't make any sense to me because it's not a first come first serve basis. Even if this was true, that they put you in the next year's pool, your score will probably end you up on the waiting list again. Anyone care to elaborate?

Congrats! ephiphany on your near graduation from Hunter-Bellevue

I just got accepted to both H-B and NYU, but I would definitely go to H-B because as u mentioned, the cost and the extra year is not worth it!

I have a question for u regarding me being CONDITIONALLY ACCEPTED for I still have to pass Microbiology with a 'C' or better. I will take finals in two weeks and will get the grade about a week after. Do I :

- Request an OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT to be send to Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing

- Print out UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT online and mail it to them

- And do I need a letter from the Professor stating that I passed his class?

I already called the lady in charge and faxed the paper over. So what did u have to do 2 years ago when u got accepted? Did u have to do the same? What's the uniform look like?(Not that it matters, I really don't mind what I wear, just curios  )

Anyway, I worked so hard to get accepted into Hunter-Bellevue and I would hate to lose my chance because of a mistake :stone So lots of questions

Also any advice you can give me on how to prepare for the next 2 years as a nursing student at H-B? Now that I got in, I worry a lot whether or not I can make it through.

PS: I THINK by '2-year waiting list' might mean it takes 2 years after becoming a Hunter student to take nursing pre-req classes before can apply into the program :)

Yes, that's what I think confused me. It's more like a two year wait rather than being on a waiting list for two years.

ps. I wrote you directly about your questions.
