I'm starting human anatomy next week, and would love to get a sticky started to keep each other sane. I'm a bit nervous about starting this class, as I really need an A, but work full-time and will also be taking abnormal psych. It's going to be a lot of work!
Let's help each other out through this forum! :welcome:
So, when are you starting, where are you taking it, and how are you feeling?
I think reading this message board a few months before taking my pre reqs has cursed me haha. I'm stressed about falling out of a routine and not doing well in the class, but the work I am putting into it seems almost moreso than needed. The only thing I am worried about misjudging study time is my lab. It's once a week and i'm not sure what study pattern I should develop for it. Perhaps I should just stick to 2 hours everyday like everyone else suggests.
Does anyone else have lab that they do on their own time? We don't have scheduled lab times. We don't even officially have anything to turn in. We have lab exams every few weeks, and they cover the material that we are supposed to be doing on our own. We also have to swipe our ID cards to get in and out of lab, and they track how much time you spend there. If you have less than 2-3 hours per week, they drop you a grade. I've never had a class like this before, so it's a little foreign to me!

I started A&PI this week. So far I'm loving it! I waited about a year and a half to take this class, and I used the time to read up on A&P. I also took cell bio last year, so the first few chapters are really just review for me.
I had my first lab today. It was mostly just introductory stuff. He showed us the microscope and pointed out the various features, then told us all to take a microscope and just get comfortable with using it. Then he left the room! So we were basically on our own trying to figure out how to use the microscope. I tried to follow the instructions but I really could not see a thing through the microscope. I'm hoping that next class he'll stick around to show us what to do if we have a hard time.

Dont' worry, study of human anatonomy is complex, but two hours at day can be perfect solution.
Do you know what is rn And other specialization in nursing ?
I study in italy and I don't know for true.
Well I had my first lab tonight as well and I am just very confused. Basically we were to look at the axial skeleton bones. My instructor didn't really say what we were supposed to do....so my partner and I figured out the different bones and where they are. The confusing thing is that everyone else in the class was taking all of these notes! Am I wrong in thinking that knowing the bones-esch different part as well as where they are located- is all that I would need to study? What was everyone else DOING???
Hi everyone,
Well I have had my first lab and lecture and I have to say i am so far feeling pretty good about the course. We examined a dissected cat in lab and it was interesting. I think I will need many hours of studying to memorize all the info. I am doing good with the planes and body direction. Hope everyone else is enjoying their class too.
I cannot believe how much work there is going to be btw. the labs and reading. I'm also taking Micro. Is that crazy? Anyone else done it?THanks,

I am not taking both this semester but plan on taking A&P II and Micro in the Spring. I know it will be overload but need to keep the pace to meet my required deadline to start Nursing program in at the end of 08'.
I'm 3 classes into my A& P course. We don't have a lab with this class, but it is a full year course. It covers ALOT of material in a short time. It was designed by a female MD for nursing students. There are over 150 people in my class and there is another section. The school only takes 80 nursing students per semester (up from 40 just a year ago). That is a very small ratio of these students. I'm working very hard so that I can be one of them! I'm not really sure why we don't have a lab, but I'm not really complaining!
