HRSA Nurse Corps Scholarship 2020-2021

I havent seen a thread yet on this year's nurse corps application cycle & my anxiety has made me start one. I'm finishing up my application and should be done with it by today. I know its extremely competitive so honestly I dont think I'll get it but its worth a try! Who else has applied/is applying?

I saw that, but I feel like we got our finalist notification and noticed this counter signature earlier than them, a lot of them weren’t named finalists until the end of august it seems

So I read the contract over again because I’m anxious about finding out, and it says in the contract that once it’s signed we have it unless they run out of funds.

Yes I saw that so hopefully they don’t run out of funds. Another line however was a clause about the appropriation of funds and congress. That means if congress wants to pull money from it for something else they can. The federal fiscal year ends September 30th, thats why they do it so late to wait and see. Ugh I’m getting nervous. I just need to be patient and let whatever happens happens. Best of luck to us all!

Maybe this is wishful thinking but hopefully they don’t decide to cut funds for nurses this year in a year where nurses are in more need than ever before due to the pandemic. Fingers crossed!!

From what I'm reading, only 3 people active on this forum have gotten a signature, and about 4 haven't or so. I was I believe the second day of finalist emails (Friday night) and I haven't either. That seems like a pretty low signature vs non-signature rate, so I'm sure they are just taking their time and there is no reason to stress! It seems crazy that there would only be like a 40% signature aka receiving rate amongst finalists, so I'm sure there is no method to the madness and we should all just wait it out!

I know the Other Reasonable Costs (ORC) are dependent upon program, but does anyone have a ball park figure of what has been offered to participants in the past?
