  1. Thank you both ! And no there is no contract or anything with either. I definitely am leaning towards the day shift my fiancé wouldn't mind either way assuming I could eventually work days. I was going to see if there was a time requirement to be on nights for the trauma offer or if you could be put on a waitlist or something for days eventually. If not I think I'll just take the day shift offer.
  2. Hi , I will be graduating in May and received two job offers. One at a level one trauma hospital as night shift trauma/surgical resident at a magnet accredited hospital. The other at as a day shift Neurology/Pulmonary nurse resident at a hospital that should be gaining magnet status by June. Both jobs offer the same pay and 12 month residency. The trauma PCU offers a bonus (doesn't say how much) after 6 months. I've always been interested in psychiatric nursing but I did not get offered that unit. I'm also getting married next March so this is also what's conflicting me. I don't necessarily have a preference since I have no experience in either but I do realize trauma can be an excellent experience and sounds very interesting , just not sure how a new marriage and life will be affected. If you had a dream unit on nights vs. day shift med surg in my position how would you make the decision ?
  3. Thank you for responding! I thought management seemed supportive the facility was a tad bit older but everyone seemed so nice. Did you enjoy the unit or get the feeling that the nurses like the unit as well? I’m attempting to decide between a trauma PCU position !
  4. That’s awesome congratulations! Can I ask how you’re making the decision? I’m in between choosing a neurology/pulmonary position at a different hospital or taking JPS since trauma seems so interesting but could be overwhelming so IDK ...but I have no experience with either..LOL also JPS doesn’t require a contract correct ?
  5. Anyone else get an offer for Neurology/Pulmonary? Is this like a med-surg unit?
  6. Did anyone else get an offer for Trauma/Surgical PCU ? Looking to get to know who all else !
  7. Nervous as well I haven’t heard back either for med/surg
  8. I applied for the medical surgical subspecialty! I got my verification email for the interview today as well.
  9. Hey guys I know y'all are probably tired of hearing me be inpatient but I finally got the counter sign today at 1:28 pm ?
  10. Was it a mistake on your end or did they just need clarification ? Just trying to see if I messed up on anything. My status still says in final review and I don't have a signature yet.
  11. I’m still waiting on a signature I was in the first finalist emails too
  12. When I called and asked about the loans I took out for Summer and fall the rep said they would reimburse me then I would have to pay them. Right I wish they could just go pay off Sallie Mae while they’re at it ??
  13. I left the entire employer section blank.
  14. Yes and I used the CAL loan since I'm in Texas plus federal. My school is an ABSN 12months and it started in May which is why I already took out so much. But I just looked it up in the booklet it says if "the participant has taken out a student loan for Summer and/fall while waiting for notice for the award the school is to provide itemized invoice and they will pay the academic institution for the amount/fees covered by the loan." so that's good but of course I'd rather just cancel the loan like you said once everything gets confirmed so I will try that option first ! Thank you !
