  1. hey, you can’t. you have to have one academic & one non-academic
  2. hey I asked one of my undergrad professors
  3. congrats on getting into UPenn! I think you have a good chance based on your experience but honestly almost everyone that applies has a good chance but some still don't get it. sooo my best advice to give is to write the helll out of your essays & make sure whoever writes your recommendations can really sell you!! & the fact that you are the first in your fam to obtain higher education and go to an ivy league is amazing. in terms of GPA they only care about the most recent school u went to I believe or the most recent semester, something like that. I graduated in 2018 with my BS but finished two prereqs at another school before applying to nursing school and they only wanted the transcript from the school I did my prereqs at. I still went ahead and submitted my undergrad transcript but they honestly didn't want it LOL. my prereq GPA was 3.9 my undergrad GPA was 3.6. GOOD LUCK!!
  4. hi, some classes are better than others and some professors are better than others. not sure how well prepared I feel for NCLEX, I’ll most likely feel more prepared when I’m done the program. you have to be dedicated to putting in a lot of studying/reading outside of class since it is accelerated but also because that’s just how nursing is. but if your prof isn’t great just be prepared to pretty much teach yourself.
  5. Hey everyone. I received an email welcoming me to the program just a few minutes ago! Congrats to all who have been notified already and positive vibes to those who are still waiting!
  6. got a signature as well this morning. hopefully we know more soon
  7. just checked. tuition is the same for fall
  8. tuition for this past semester was $9789. registration fee - $400, nursing fees - $1500. grand total - $11,689. & I believe tuition went up a bit for fall. but I haven’t looked at it.
  9. the only items we had to purchase were a stethoscope & nursing watch. then we ordered our skills bag (free of charge) from a website that the school provided. the skills bag has things you need for your fundamentals lab skills such as ostomy care, medication administration, PPE, urinary catheters, etc. you will probably hear more about that during your orientation.
  10. for those who have received a countersign, how long did that take after you signed the contract? still waiting
  11. Hi, does anyone know if nurse corps provides any assistance for loans taken out for this past Summer semester?
  12. thanks for that update, ill be keeping an eye on mine FYI I spoke to a representative about two days ago and asked him what are the chances of being awarded once you are a finalist and he said everyone gets awarded unless they find any discrepancies or if we were dishonest about anything in our application
  13. we won't be awarded until another few weeks
  14. uhmmm I cant remember how close to the deadline but I def didn't apply early. if you did well in your pre reqs and have a strong personal essay then I think you have a good chance too, Spring is so far away so I think nov is pretty accurate about when you hear back, I don't think youll hear back by sept 1. yes I applied to suny downstate but wouldnt have been able to start until 2021. look into them as well, far cheaper than mercy
