  1. I got into UM but have no heard back from FIU (what are we at? Less than a month before school starts?)
  2. I agree! I also got into UM and it was a much better process. Better campus and way better reputation. FIU should not conduct admissions this way. They let students know way too late and it is not conducive to planning or anything! Shame on them. Thank you all for agreeing with me!! The process at FIU is NOT right.
  3. Most schools don’t “notify others when people reject.” They let all of the accepted students know at once and then create a waitlist. Also, every single school I applied to gives you at least 3 weeks to make a decision and lets you know MONTHS before the program starts what the decision is not one single month before it begins. Lastly, 2 days is not considered plenty of time for most people who need to shell out a lot of money for nursing school and decide what to do and where to go (there is a lot of planning involved and decisions to make). Therefore, two days is not “plenty of time.”
  4. How could they give you a weekend to make a decision? That is crazy and unfair in my opinion. I will be turning down my spot if I get in because I am already in another nursing program but I am curious to find out
  5. Has anyone not heard back at all yet? Did you guys get an email? I got nothing
  6. OMG I am going to Emory too and I am in the same exact situation and neither can I! Maybe we can chat separate?
  7. @TreeofSmoke are you attending Emory by any chance?
  8. I haven’t gotten a signature yet and I was in the first round of finalists. However, I pretty much have confirmation that HRSA has been in contact with someone from my school because they called to me they were in contact with HRSA and the school had to change something on my enrollment form. Hoping that’s a good sign??
  9. Maybe this is wishful thinking but hopefully they don’t decide to cut funds for nurses this year in a year where nurses are in more need than ever before due to the pandemic. Fingers crossed!!
  10. I think a lot of us won’t be working during our programs! Owing money in taxes will likely be a lot less than the cost of school plus the stipend. Think of it like winning the lottery or a prize on reality TV. Yes you will have to pay tax but isn’t it still worth the prize? That’s just my opinion at least maybe you will reconsider ?
  11. I am also a finalist and I don’t think anyone has been rewarded yet!
  12. CONGRATS everyone! Does anyone know when we will get the reward? My tuition is due September 2nd and I really can’t take out a loan!
  13. Yikes that much? I have no idea how that works! The scholarship seems worth it though
  14. Thanks for reaching out! Tuition is due September 2nd so maybe some finalists will hear before then? I just don’t want to go to this school if I don’t actually end up with the scholarship
