HRSA 2014-2015 Nurse Corps Scholarship

Published

Hello everyone, This is my second time applying for this scholarship and hope to get it this time around. I got accepted into Pace nursing program fall of last year but because of lack of funds I had to postpone it for this fall. My overall GPA Is 3.4 and I have EFC of 0. I submitted my application today and now the waiting game begins:nailbiting:. Wish everyone good luck!!!!

Good luck everyone as well!

At our school we have a sponsor you runs this entire thing & she told us we won't hear anything until about July & the funds won't be decided until about August or so. So, I'm not sure if this is the case for anyone else or not.

Anyone hear back yet from the HRSA? I am anticipating acceptance - efc 0 gpa 3.61

odd question.... do they always give you full funding based on your schools tuition rate or can it vary depending upon your EFC, like partial funding or something..?

I am a previous scholarship recipent. I am applying again for my Master's. Mine also says under review. I read somewhere that the review portion was until June 28th. So I would think people should start hearing soon. Has anyone's credit been pulled??

I applied also. Prior to my submission, i sat on the HRSA conference call for 2 hours. Im pretty sure they said they wouldnt let people know until august. I wonder if you get the scholarship if they reimburse you because ive definetly put out alot already. Seat fee, ordered uniforms and background /drug check. And now i have to order my nursing kit and take a cpr class. I will becstarting an ADN program in the fall.

yes, they do reimburse you for any and all approved expenses according to the site. most of the time, tuition is due before the money is dispersed and people have to take out loans and get reimbursed. I really hope we start finding out soon :nailbiting:

They will reimburse, but only the first time. If you take loans out any other time after this first "semester" then they will not reimburse.

I doubt the will reimburse for the portion that you already paid for. I have to pay my full tuition by August 1st and class start September 4. I've already took out a loan so if I do get this scholarship, I'm hoping try will let me cancel the loan and pay my full balance

In the handbook it says they reimburse for what's paid for for the semester you're in if you already had to take out a loan.

Ok thanks....now let's hope we hear from them pretty soon

so while we are still waiting...

does this scholarship restrict the kind of specialties you can apply for?

what if there arent any "in-need" Nurse Corp approved facilities near you?

and why is the 1 year and 2 year tuition, both require a 2 year work agreement?

can we decide to pay off half the loan if we only want to work for 1 year?

and i assume you still get paid for during that work period, right?
