HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

Updated:   Published

Hello fellow RN's/APRN's,

Just finished my application for the HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023 program! Nervous but excited to see what comes of it, I see that the competition is extreme but it looks like over the past few years they've been given more funding to award!

Question as well: Does disadvantaged background apply to RN/APRN's applying or only to nurse faculty? I included the form anyway, just in case it helped my case as I am the first in my family to attend college.

Here are my qualifiers:

FNP-C

Behavioral Health - Pediatrics

DTI <100% - Just at 0.95%  (This is the total qualifying education loan balance divided by base annual salary)

HPSA Score: 13

Best of luck everyone!

Starting to get nervous over here!! This is my second year applying but I received a credit check this time around in May 2nd and application status "under review". Trying not to lose hope!! Are rewards being offered to NPs first then will be offered to RNs??

It seems to be NPS first. We all appeared to have gotten the email the night of the 3rd. Make sure and check your app though. They give you one week to reply and then it's forfeited. If it goes in your spam file and you don't see it, that would suck.

I received notices yesterday that I got the  award for HRSA NHSC. Grateful and excited. Good luck everyone. I am a psych NP in community health

So I had my credit pulled on May 2nd and July 5th.  I got notified that I was a finalist for the NHSC on 07/25/23 but I declined because I really need more than the $50k, I took a chance and am hoping I get notified for the Nurse Corps Loan Repayment.  Has anyone heard anything yet!!

Received a finalist email for the NHSC LRP and quickly accepted it! I really wanted the Nurse Corps, but beggars can't be choosers!

Debt to Income is calculated by how much do you owe in total for student loans divided by how much you make in a year. If you owe more in student loans than you make in a year that places you in the higher tier for consideration

Do you know if the spouses income is included in this, or just the applicants?

I think it is just the salary reported by your employer.  Mine was reported as my base salary before bonuses, etc.

Just a reminder that this is the thread for the Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program.  There's another thread for the NHSC Program also.

I was fortunate to receive news that I am a finalist for nurse corps loan repayment on the morning of 8/3. I've accepted the award but still under final review, curious if anyone else is under review as well? It's been some time since I accepted.

Are any of you who are finalists for or offered the Nursing Corp Repayment program RNs or just nps right now?
