HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

Hello fellow RN's/APRN's,

Just finished my application for the HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023 program! Nervous but excited to see what comes of it, I see that the competition is extreme but it looks like over the past few years they've been given more funding to award!

Question as well: Does disadvantaged background apply to RN/APRN's applying or only to nurse faculty? I included the form anyway, just in case it helped my case as I am the first in my family to attend college.

Here are my qualifiers:

FNP-C

Behavioral Health - Pediatrics

DTI <100% - Just at 0.95%  (This is the total qualifying education loan balance divided by base annual salary)

HPSA Score: 13

Best of luck everyone!

I applied as well. I don't have much hope in being picked, but who knows.

I just started working and started my application but the employment verification was not completed and I missed the deadline for that part of the application.  Does anyone have any experience with re-applying?  How often is this program offered?

Following this thread because I applied as well; finished the app the next day after it opened, though I don't think that changes anything for preference/priority.  I did apply as an RN probably 7 years ago (DTI was around 200% with same HPSA score) and was not selected.

My first time applying. I'm a CNM and PMHNP.  I work in an OB practice doing mental health.

I am a PMHNP that recently applied to Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program 2023 cycle. I completed and summited all the required documents with the exception of my ANCC Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) board certification. Unfortunately, I only found out that the document was needed once I read that the document was to be submitted under "additional supporting documents" after the deadline. Has anyone encountered the same or similar issues?

Ugh, my heart just dropped! I did the same thing, I didn't realize I was supposed to up load it.

There's 3 other loan repayment programs that opened today.  Try looking on the website and apply to the one of those.

I read on here that if you don't have alll you the required items they won't consider/won't accept late documents.

Thank you, I just applied to the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program as well. I have two active applications.

I applied as a CRNA and was never asked to submit proof of board certification. I wonder if I just screwed myself for the next year?

Following. I applied. Not really expecting much but interested to know how others fare.

Hi all. I just submitted my application for the Rural Community LRP. My second time applying, I received an award back in 2019, which was amazing. Started with about $250K student loan debt in 2018 (Oh, if I could have a conversation with my younger self). Was hoping they could just segue me into another round, but I wound up having to take a year off (due to conflictions between when my contract ended and the 2021/2022 application deadline). I work at a very rural IHS site in New Mexico. Completely uprooted my life from the east coast to take advantage of this opportunity (truthfully, I'd wanted to work for the IHS for about 10 years). It's challenging, but I can honestly say, I adore my patient population and the people I work with. I do think I make an impact. I love where we live, it's peaceful and quiet. Will be staying on after the loans are paid off, hopefully to finally enjoy La Dolce Vida.
