Hi everyone, just starting this form since I didn't see a thread for this application cycle. First time applicant, Tier 2.

Hi there! Tier 2 here as well, first time applicant, Pediatric NP in Primary Care here in Queens, NY. Thanks for starting this thread! Did you see in the application guidance document that they expect to give only 20 awards this year plus 1200 continuation awards? Can this possibly be right? If so I am not very hopeful.....
Update! I spoke with nurse corps today regarding another question about my application and she confirmed that 20 new awards was a typo and the target is around 1000 or slightly less this year for new awards. Phew! Good luck everyone!

Hi I am also applying this year. I am tier 1 psych NP.
I called them yesterday as well but the person told me they will renew 1200 and awards 20 new recipients, which is not a typo. I am just so confused by the mix of information I received and feel frustrated about the sharp contrast (when compared to last year)

Wow that's absolutely awful. I had hoped it was a mistake.

how many new applicants were awarded last year?

Confirming this after attending the information session this afternoon. Very disappointing.
Looking at the FY2024 budget justification and there are only 17 awards listed for 2024 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment new awards. the language does say "approximately 20". This is terrible.
This is so terrible I am so disappointed ? I wonder how the NHSC budget will be this year.

Good luck everyone. Application closes at 730p today ET. Following this thread and fingers crossed, despite them only offering around 20 awards this year. That will be a very lucky 20 folks.

20 applicants only?? I wonder what changed. Anyway, anyone know why they pull a credit report? Specifically, what are they looking for you not to have on there?

Hi everyone, I see that they do a credit check for this scholarship. Does anyone know if having a charge-off from a private non-federal loan make someone ineligible for the scholarship? Thanks.

What does the tier mean? How do you know what tier you are?
