HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023

Updated:   Published

Hello fellow RN's/APRN's,

Just finished my application for the HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023 program! Nervous but excited to see what comes of it, I see that the competition is extreme but it looks like over the past few years they've been given more funding to award!

Question as well: Does disadvantaged background apply to RN/APRN's applying or only to nurse faculty? I included the form anyway, just in case it helped my case as I am the first in my family to attend college.

Here are my qualifiers:

FNP-C

Behavioral Health - Pediatrics

DTI <100% - Just at 0.95%  (This is the total qualifying education loan balance divided by base annual salary)

HPSA Score: 13

Best of luck everyone!

Log in and check! I never got an email now now my portal shows I'm a finalist!

What does it say different to indicate you are a finalist?

That's exciting!! Congratulations! Where it says under review, did it change to say finalist?

It did, and the layout of the page was different as well.

Congrats!! Awesome news.   Is this for Nurse corp Or the NHSC LRP?   How did you decide on applying for one over the other ?

I believe it was just one application and you are considered for both. I do have a substance abuse background and the Xwaiver. The letter I received was for NHSC LRP.

I know NHSC LRP finalists are being notified. But I am wondering has anyone received any finalist information from Nurse Corps LRP?

I haven't heard anything yet regarding the Nurse Corps LRP. My status still shows "under review.” It gets a little confusing when people post about other programs.

I agree. My heart sank the past 2 times people made this post. Congrats to them but maybe put the loan you're applying to in the body of the text? I also want to gently point out the thread title is specifically for the Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program.

Hi! I applied for nurse corps LRP and had my credit check May 2nd. I got an email June 30 saying I was a finalist (but unfortunately I have to turn it down)

Thank you for letting me know! I'm sorry you had to turn it down!

I also had my credit checked on May 2nd, I'm a PNP, my DTI >100%, and HPSA score of 19. My fingers are crossed!!

Hey there! I was wondering if there has been any more news out there concerning finalists. I received a credit check May 31st and my application still says "under review". Is the credit check even significant? I've seen conflicting information about that. I'm a WHNP but provide Women's Health in a primary setting. On my application it asked if I was working in a women's health/obgyn facility and I marked no considering it's technically a family practice. This is my first time applying and I figured the only thing really helping me was women's health.

DTI <100% with a facility score of 17 so I believe I'm tier 2.
