Hi, there. I'm a classic stress eater, and prone to rapid weight gain.
I notice that I eat more sensibly and prevent weight gain by staying on an exercise routine.

You do not eat sugar or products containing sugar and continue to exercise.
The equation is rather simple: you will not gain weight if you burn as many calories as you consume.
However, my personal experiences dictate that this is much easier said than done!

I try not to eat any more than usual, and if I have too many chocolates or goodies, I have a salad for supper or a lighter meal. I try not to eat on nights, just drink tea, and if I am really hungry I reach for some fruit.
I don't beat myself up too much if I gain a little, just try to stick to my normal eating and exercise schedule and have the treats that I really want to have.

I needed to lose some weight and I've been doing Medifast. I've NEVER been able to lose weight before, but I've actually lost all of the cravings. I didn't eat a single bad thing at Thanksgiving and will do the same at Christmas--unheard of for me! I'm also exercising more and since I've lost the majority of weight, I've been able to start running (well, really a jog ) and that helps, too.

Congratulations! Just keep up the work and don't freak out or feel guilty if you gain a pound or two!

I try to avoid all that garbage that we get as gifts at work, but sometimes it's impossible. Last week a family member came in with cannoli from this bakery in Brooklyn that he insisted we all eat in front of him because according to him "this is the best cannoli in the world". I had to eat. He was watching.
Oh, I am drooling. Good cannoli. I moved from NYC up here to Turkey Droppings, NY three years ago and....
Cannoli. Oh. Oh.
