I like my hot showers and a half glass of wine, but seem to be having wine every night just a bout! I'm looking for new ways to help deal with stress and relax. What is your passion for relaxing after dealing with the politics and tiredness associated with nursing?
A big mug of hot, black coffee (winter or summer). After that in the summer I go for a swim for about an hour then in for a hot shower and cook dinner. In the winter, when I can't swim, I go straight for the hot shower then cook dinner. We usually eat in front of the TV (something that was NEVER allowed when the kids were home!)
i havent quite found the right recipe for relaxing after work yet, as the sun is just beginning to blind me as i am getting home, but my routine has pretty much been the same for the last couple years or so...
-stop at carryout on my way home for a loaf of bread and probably peanuts.
-come home and clean out the bird bath and put fresh water in it.
-feed birds and my wonderful squirrel friends!
-open a heineken, and check my email and other happenings online.
-throw more food out for ravenous animals
-open beer number 2, take a couple benedryl, have dinner, get into bed and read as much as i can, think about things i need to get done after i wake up- passing out for a couple hours until i have to get up for work again.
not a very healthy thing to do, but hey. i work my orifice off, so whatever.
i really miss having a cat to come home to, though!
sometimes when i have the next couple nights off, i come home and try to stay up by doing yardwork/ mowing the lawn. i always regret that about 2pm or so, but it does help with some awesome sleep.
