The wonderful thing about nursing is that it is open to everyone of all ages. Please give a cheer to all the people who believe that age is not a factor in learning. And, to all the people who strive for knowledge regardless of age. How old were you when you started nursing school?

Start in the Fall at age 44 and will be 46 when I graduate.

I'll be 25 when I start the BSN program this fall and 27 when I graduate.

I start a BSN program this fall at 20-will be 22 when I graduate.

I will start my Accelerated BSN program on my 22nd birthday and finish when I'm 23. I'm going into this program straight out of my first undergraduate program.

17 yrs old i took nursing

Now im 20 reviewing for a local licensure exam: )

28 When I finally went back to school and started my pre-reqs, I'm 30 and applying to the 2015 RN program, I'll be 31 When I start and 33 when I finish. If I listened to my mother... I would have graduated at 24 :) but ya live and ya learn

Specializes in Med/surg, Onc.

I'd never attended college before. I started when I was 27 and graduated with my ADN just a couple months after I turned 31.

I wouldn't have ever picked nursing younger and I wouldn't have been good at it earlier either. I got married and had my son, travelled etc first and then went back to school.

I'm 28 and start an ABSN in Aug.

I started Prerequisites (A&P, Chemistry) when I was 38. Although I already had a Bachelor in Economics, I was trying very hard to get into any of all universities that offer BSN program around. They all had different prereqs, different deadlines for applications, different requirements (such as some of them required to take certain class only at their campuses and did not accept transferred credits for those classes from anywhere else)...

This is why it took 3 years to complete all kinds of different courses, and I was absolutely ready to apply to a private college which did not ask to take anymore prerequisites, just to pay 4 times more per semester and I could start right away....

And that's when I received the letter of acceptance into state college and I will start my first of four semesters of BSN program in this upcoming fall. I'll be 41 then. After I graduate I will be turning 43... Life is just starting getting better and better. If I will be able to maintain a good health, i'll be able to earn about 25-30 years of working experience in nursing career . :)

P.S. I've got divorced last year and I live of the student loan. I have two daughters (20 and 10), I am very excited about my future! I know I can do it! I will be independent and self-sufficient!

I started college at 18, started nursing school at 21 and will have my BSN degree in 2 weeks at age 22. :)

Since I had no clue what I wanted to be when I grew up.... I'm 34 and taking pre-reqs. I hate to think of the age of accomplishment. But the older us farts get, the more we appreciate the experience and hard work it takes to reach the goal.
