How old were you when you started nursing school?

The wonderful thing about nursing is that it is open to everyone of all ages. Please give a cheer to all the people who believe that age is not a factor in learning. And, to all the people who strive for knowledge regardless of age. How old were you when you started nursing school?

I started taking prereqs at the tail end of 29. Began my medical imaging program at 31. Had a change of heart almost a year in and changed to nursing. I'll finish a few more prereqs and start Jan 2015. I'll graduate at 35. I'll go on for my BSN but the time line isn't concrete yet.

I was 27 when I started. I'll be 29 when I graduate :)

I'm glad I waited until I was older. I could not imagine my 18 year old fresh out of high school punk self handling this! I was way too immature!

It's funny you should say that. I graduated from my nursing course at age 41, and my patients said the same thing to me. They thought a "young" nurse wouldn't have enough experience to be their nurse. It is hard when you look young and pts. Want a different nurse lol.

It's true! There's a girl in my class who is only 18. Patients ask if she's old enough to drive!

I am 22 and I just got accepted into an RN program. I will be 25, going on 26 when I graduate and hopefully go on to graduate school for 2-3 years.

Starting nursing school in August at the ripe old age of 53! My youngest just turned 20. I feel ready!

Started my LPN at 25 and finished it at 26. Began my ASN at 27 and finished at my current age of 28. I just started my BSN and will finish at age 29!
