It's not too often that I get sick. I figure with all the germs that I am exposed to, that I must have built up immunity to a lot of sniffles and sneezes and stomach bugs. And between that and incessantly washing my hands I am probably better off than a lot of other non- nurses.
Granted - when some nasty germ actually is successful in breaking through and getting me sick, it can be pretty bad. But fortunately, that's rare.
The common cold with sniffels and sneezes and coughing? oh maybe once or twice a year.
Majorily sick, flu like..not often maybe once couple of years (watch now I'll get knocked on my keester with something.,.ughh).
The thing is although I don't get majorily sick often, when I do, I get knocked down for the count..bad. its as if all the bugs I didn't get, take revenge all at once.
I get sick with a minor cold once or twice a year. These are not usually bad enough to miss work. I get the flu or a bad case of bronchitis every couple of years. However, I quit smoking 3 months ago and I have had a bad case of bronchitis about two months ago and now I am sick with a head cold. Maybe someday I will feel better because I quit smoking.

1-2 x per year, usually. Knock on wood.
