Since we are all looking forward to it!!
We get out at 2pm on the 25th, so really its just a 4 day weekend, but I'll take it. However with all the shopping and several family get togethers, it doesn't seem like much rest!!
We are off Wed-Thurs-Fri. Monday and Tuesday there are bound to be many students off traveling. I imagine someday we will likely have the whole week off to accommodate travel.
I may pick up at my other job to make some Xmas $$$$, but having all those days off is so so tempting... But so is money.
I work Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I have Thursday (Thanksgiving), Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday off!
I'm excited because my husband is three months into his new job and has no time off. I only had to use one PTO day to get that much time off. My normal work schedule is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday but a co-worked switched Tuesday for Friday with me so I only had to take one day.
That was way more of an explanation than you needed but I'm just so excited!
This is our first year to "try" it. We returned to school one day earlier this year and it's leap year so therein lies the makeup. Next year we're coming back one day early at the beginning of the year and one day early from Christmas break. The works for me!! It should be standard for everyone to close that whole week; there is no educational element that would apply or remotely be attached to classes that week anyway.

Tuesday through Sunday, with a program on Monday. My wife covers my Mondays, so I get the whole week.
