How much did you start as a nurse and when.

What was your first nursing salary and when did you command what I'm sure is going to be such high salaries? LOL.

Me: 13.18/hr as an RN in San Antonio in 1993.

Ironically, I left my LPN job outside of Baltimore MD to take that job, and I was making 14.50/hr as an LPN in LTC in MD at that time.

(My first healthcare job, as a CNA in 1991: 6.20/hr.)

Graduated in July 2006, now working as an LPN @ a rehabilitation center in coastal SC for $21.50/hour.

$23.19/hr in 2003 in chicago. now $42/hr as a in house registry nurse and $29/hr some where else as a permanent staff nurse with benefits. the registry job is quick extra cash.

I believe they paid me in chickens back then....or was it 9.00/hr? That was for the medical floor night shift. (also known as new grad hell) It's been so long ago. Almost didn't seem worth it then. That was in 1984ish A.D. Now I make a great salary and don't need the chickens. I think new grads now are starting out at 19/hr here.

Graduated from a 4 year BSN program in 1978. My first hospital job was on a medical floor, rotating all three shifts, making $4.50/hr.

1997. New LPN. $12 an hour. I now make $30. Still an LPN, but with lotsa med/surg, geriatric, and supervisory experience.

this was in NC

as an RN, $6.024 an hour, in 1979

1986 - LPN $6.75/hr

1974 started at $4.25/ hr. Medical center/big city
