In NYC I am paying $3,000 a year to go to nursing school at BMCC. It's a good school, very popular and there is usually a waiting list to get into the nursing program. Are you going to a community college, private or what? (to pay $8,000 yearly)? Anyway, since the school isn't very expensive I haven't done the loan thing yet ($0 in loans). I might have to do it when I get to the tougher aspects of nursing school though. Getting a loan means not working as much and that'll give me the time I need to study more. What classes were you taking before nursing?

Im going to a community college, It's not 8,000 yearly, its 8,000 total for the nursing program. I took A&P12, micro, college algebra(3 times I bad at math embarassing), nutrition, english 1and2, intro to health, the list goes on. I took some prep classes also for math too.
I go to MSU in Beckley,WV. It is considered a "private":uhoh3: college and is sooo expensive. Tuition for 1 nursing course is about $900.00. So, I am unsure how much debt I will walk away with but it isn't going to be pretty. I already have about $8,000 for 2 semesters. Getting to go to nursing school for $8,000 is a GREAT deal! I wish all of us could be that blessed!

Now I don't feel so bad, not being rude or anything. 8,000 for 2 semesters is a lot.
I have about 49,000 - 53,000 in debt ... and I went to public university! :imbar
All of it is just tuition and books and supplies.
I worked two jobs to pay for rent, utilities, food, gas, insurance (health and car) and supplies for home.
On the rare occassion, I'd get an emergency bail out from Father.
I got a loooooooooooooooooot of money to pay back

I'm not even in nursing school yet, at first I didn't know what i wanted to do so I took some uneccessary classes and I have 20,000 in loans already. I'm applying to the ASN program for Fall and it cost 8,000. Is this about average for prereqs and nursing school?
