I hope I'm allowed to ask this question. How much do you make per hour for private duty? Do you get benefits? I'm ashamed to say that I make 22.50 an hour and I have no benefits. I could sign up for insurance but it's 300.00 a month which I can't afford so I don't even have health insurance. I want a better job but man it's hard to find a job where I live.
wow, now I am really glad that my PDN patient and family formed a Limited liability Corp of themselves, I started @ $30/hour, (no benefits, as there are currently only 2 fulltime RNs, one on days and me on nights, and 1 RN who is contingent nights, working one night a week). Mom also cares for patient on our off days/nights... I get time and a half on holidays, and have never once had an issue with my paycheck. Gotta say, I really do love my job!

Is the family independently wealthy?
Where does their funding come from?
Just hired in Michigan at $19 an hour, 32 hrs per week. My rent is $875 a month (includes all utilities, cable, and internet.) I have car payment and student loans together totaling $500; $130 car and rental insurance, gas and groceries of course, and 30 mile round trip commute. Benefits are minimal at best. Training hours are paid at minimum wage! But, hey, it's a job, and far less stressful than some!
I make about $20/hour doing peds PDN in my area. I've only taken on one case with the agency, and my case isn't that "nursing" complicated (the most difficult thing I do is assess for seizures, give meds PRN and put in the occasional IV). I like the slower pace vs. the hospital and the ability to develop a bit of a peds/neuro skillset.

I'm interested in working in this field of nursing in NYC. I was wondering what the pay rate was in NYC? Thanks
