I hope I'm allowed to ask this question. How much do you make per hour for private duty? Do you get benefits? I'm ashamed to say that I make 22.50 an hour and I have no benefits. I could sign up for insurance but it's 300.00 a month which I can't afford so I don't even have health insurance. I want a better job but man it's hard to find a job where I live.

Same .I make 21$ an hour no benefits . Here that’s good pay because in the hospital and doctors office you are Lucky to make 15-16$ an hour .
I'm currently making $20.50/hour with no evening or weekend differentials. I don't mind the lower wage (for now) since I just graduated from nursing school in August. As a new nurse, I'm taking on lower acuity patients- (g-button) to protect my license. I definitely do not want to jump into patients on a vent or with a trach because I don't think I'm experienced enough to care for these patients independently at this time.

LVN - 3yrs private duty experience -pediatric. Previously a pedi clinic nurse.
Agency #1 $22 GB up to 25 for trach/vent
Agency 2 Tried to get me to work for $17-21 depending on acuity. I laughed and walked out.
Agency 3 $20 GB. $24 trach/vent. Needless to say I don't take GB.
Benefits are usually tiered.
Free -$20 so for the bottom of the barrel and only meets tax requiremente-barely.
Way more expensive plans for crappy coverage. No ER coverage etc can be really expensive.
But many agencies are beginning to offer pto, 401k and pd holidays at time and a half.
I am contemplating leaving home health to go back to the clinic because the benefits are better. Pay is about the same.
