Just curious:p I will be 40 on Wed. I've got 2 kids, 10 and 6. I am still doing my pre-req's. I know I can do this, but would love to hear from some more grey hairs, hee hee:D By the way, my names Heather and I'm fairly new to the site.
here's to all you great girls!!!
I admire you all, I am almost 41 and thinking about changing from nurse educator to something else (I am a bit burned out about being around sick people and teaching about it), but the only thing I can and learned is nursing.
Plus, at the moment my energies are gone.
I hope you all reach your goals and stay healthy with it!!
Take care, Renee
hi, i am 40 with two children (14yr son and 7yr daughter). it is definitely challenging having a family and going to school, but well worth it! i am a single parent, so do not have to look after the additional "big" child. :d i do receive much support from my sister, parents, and friends. i think learning at this age is much easier and more rewarding than when i was younger. i just hope i graduate before they have to put me in the nursing home!!!
:d
Hi all...I am a nursing student, just started my pre-req's 2 weeks ago, will be 39 in March...ahve 4 children all total...23, 18, 7 and 4...to think I was almost finshed!! LOL
I am in agreement with all of the other folks on here...I am glad to be older...I really want to be in those classes. I am having a blast! I am also terrified and swamped with homework already. I have to go type my Bio lab now, so I better get off from here and stop fooling around. I, too, have a wonderfully supportive hubby, wish I met him the first time around! He makes it possible for me to go to school after all these years!!
Well, gotta go...have a great night, all!!
We'll talk soon, I'm sure...
Christine
Welcome AZBRONXBABY!
yOU HAVE FOUND A WONDERFUL SUPPORT SITE.i AM 42, MY KIDS ARE GROWN,(EXPECTING FIRST GRAN BABY).i AM REALLY ENJOYING SCHOOL THIS TIME AROUND.MY HUSBAND IS GREAT ABOUT HELPING WITH LAUNDRY AND COOKING. WE BOTH HAVE ADOPTED THE PHILOSOPHY THAT DUST IS OUR FRIEND.
GOOD LUCK,AND AGAIN,WELCOME
Thanks, Stevie, for that nice welcome!
I am so excited about being in school this time around, I really wish I had done this so many years ago...but I promised myself I wouldn't do the "coulda, shoulda woulda" thing. Life is too short!
Congratulations on becoming a grandma, that's wonderful!!
I think I have found a really supportive place to be, I finally bought myself (irregardless of what my chidlren think) a computer that I could afford. I cannot believe how many papers I've already typed in 2 weeks...I know...there'll be plenty more where that came from...nothing worth having comes easy, right?
Again, thanks for the nice welcome, have a great day!!
PS-I like the "dust is our friend" thought!!
Christine :)

I'm 45 in my junior year of nursing school. I've got three kids-16, 13, and 11.
I like that advice from studentsara. Except I can't get my kids to do their homework at home.
