I was wondering how many students you are responsible for and what grades your school is? Also, is there a Certified School Nurse and a Health Assistant in your office or are you flying solo?
I float, but the HS has 2LPN and 1RN for 2000+, 2 MS's have 1LPN and 1 RN with 800+ and the other 8 ES have 1 RN except for one that has 800 kids which has 2 RN's. Only RN's can have their own school which stinks b/c the 3 LPN's we have, have at least 60yrs experience combined.
I have 800 students in 5th and 6th grade. I am full-time at my school, and have a half-time aide. I am an RN, but my state does not recognize school nurse certification.
~650 kiddos on 3 campuses in my district (3 campuses = 3 different cities; the other 2 campuses are about an hour from my "home" campus), grades 3rd-10th, I am part time, and I fly solo. Also, I'm an RN but my state doesn't require us to be certified.
We have an RN that does screenings, IEP, and 504's and she tries* to come in 1 a week if possible. But she is on a contract that only allows so many days/hours.
Middle School, about 750 kids - just me. We have a nurse leader in the city, and I am fortunate to have a buddy nurse who works at a different school across the street. We have floating health assistants who can pitch in for screenings or other busy times.
