  1. Great idea! Thank you!

Anyone have any good ideas of health topics that I can incorporate to a lesson with a group of high school students once a week?
  3. oh WOW! I am so sorry! What college did you take them at? Did they say you would have to retake them? Maybe it's just a matter of calling your advisor and making sure they're added to your file. My nephew had to send his transcript 3 times and they still don't have all of his classes listed on his degree audit! It IS very frustrating!
  4. May 11th deadline
  5. Thanks, Vallie. Did she happen to mention how many more would be accepted? Or are there only a few spots left based on the off chance that someone may fail a prereq (who was already offered early acceptance) and therefore, have to forfeit their admission into the program.
  6. If you don't mind me asking, what are your stats?
  7. Have you received an acceptance letter yet? My son did, but my nephew has not, and we were banking on the two of them driving back and forth together. He and my son had similar grades - A&B's, but my nephew's HESI score was unfortunately very low on the AP section. He had not yet taken APII when he took his HESI. We're hoping and praying he receives a letter in June when the second round goes out. I'm so curious about how many more will be receiving letters.
  8. Yes, my son's was an "early acceptance" conditional upon him completing all of the required prereqs.
  9. My son received his early acceptance letter on Friday, April 27th. My nephew, who also applied, has not received anything yet. We are still hoping and praying that he gets in. Does anyone happen to know how many are sent "early acceptance" letters, and how many will be included in the second round? Are there only two rounds of letters that go out? We honestly weren't even expecting to know anything until July, as that is what his prenursing advisor told him. Further, I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have any inside information about how many applicants there were, and how may will be accepted. I assumed that because the application came out so late, and there was only about 1 month to get everything in before the deadline that there wouldn't be many applicants. Maybe I was wishful thinking.
  10. I still have a lot to learn about FERPA. I will admit that I need to further educate myself on that. I'm use to working with HIPPA, not so much FERPA. I have been told (as it relates to the ECHS) that I am not allowed to share student health information with college employees (even if I would consider them a "need to know" person, such as an instructor). I'm so confused by that since the student is still technically a minor. In addition to that, if a medical emergency happens to one of my students while they're at the college, how will I know? I've searched the internet to try and get more info as it pertains to the ECHS concept and the health office, but can't seem to find much out there.
  11. My district will be adding a early college high school next year, and I have been chosen to the be the nurse. Grades will be 9-12. Students will essentially be given the opportunity to earn an associates degree and a high school diploma simultaneously. Students will be going back and forth from the HS campus to the college for classes throughout the day. This is a new concept and no one in my district can give me any insight as to how things will be different and what type of things should be taken into consideration as far the health office is concerned. I do know that the HS and college are treated as two separate entities and that at the college level, students information (of all types: grades, health, etc) are protected from the parent/guardian (as in it cannot be shared without the student's consent). Is anyone here currently who has or has previously had any experience working in a school like this that can provide me with any pointers/insight? Any and all advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
  12. How is theories and patho? Pretty strenuous or fairly easy?

  14. And required to be renewed every 2 years. At least they are in Texas any way.
  15. For me, it was a figure it out as you go.
