My micro class started out with 29 students and we are now down to 17. We just had the first test last night - and I only counted 12 student there taking the test!! WOW!

My A&P I class is the same way. We started w/ 22 and I know we've lost at least five. The other night in class we literally had 10 people show up.
We've also gone from 22 to 11 in my online lifespan psych class. I think a lot of people figured out online classes aren't for them!

This has happened in all of my classes too! The first day of my english class there was literally nowhere to sit and now half the class is empty! And don't get me started on my A&P class... we've gone from 22 to somewhere around 8 although only 4 showed up last week...

This is really kind of frustrating and annoying when I think how hard you have to fight to get into the prereq classes that you need.
Many of the classes I needed were already filled when I registered. I had to take a less than desirable schedule (bad time and at satellite campus). Now people are dropping out of classes I needed at the times that I wanted.
Look on the bright side. If you're down to 4 people, at least you get your own microscope in lab. No sharing with a lab partner!
Man I wish people would drop out of my lab class but so far that's the only one everyone keeps coming to lol. Its the only class I have that is 90% younger kids (as in 18-19 y/o) and if I have to hear one more giggle, one more lame pick up line, or anymore flirting while i'm trying to pay attention I may just scream.

So far in my classes not many have dropped yet. In micro lab I think we have lost maybe 2 out of 24. In A&P II I think we have lost maybe 3 out of 24....but we just now took the first test and usually after that is when they drop off.
I understand the frustration about the classes filling up so fast. I used to hate that but now I register on the first day that the classes are open and have not had any problem getting the classes I want. They don't usually fill up until about a month before class starts. Guess I am lucky here.

You all didn't get your own microscope to begin with? In our lab we have enough microscopes for every person registered. That would suck to have to share.
Last night there were only 12 of the original 29 in class. And in lab there were only 8 of us!! Which is fine with me b/c we can get more 1-on-1 help in areas that we need it.

Wow! I TA for an A&P class and it is FULL!!! 28 students still. I'm looking foward to having a seat at a bench hopefully soon - people are still hanging on though!
LadyVol - I totally feel your pain on getting into classes. I remember trying to get into A&P and micro one semester, but the classes were full and you just KNOW people are going to drop like flies! lol!
I really loved my A&P classes though!

My micro class was like this, too. It explained why my professor was so casual about letting me waitlist into the class -- she knew more than half of the students were going to evaporate. We were a tight-knit group by the end of the semester.
One thing that surprised me in micro was how many people were taking it for the second or third time. I know that if I couldn't comprehend a subject after 2 failures, I'd be rethinking the whole nursing gig instead of signing up for another semester of punishment.
