I wasn't planning on applying to any schools this cycle as I still had pre-reqs to complete, but my advisor urged me to because "it certainly wouldn't hurt". So, I only applied to one BSN program with the knowledge that chances are pretty slim of me actually being accepted this time around. Still haven't received official word either way...hopefully this week!
If I don't make it in, then I'm planning on re-applying this spring to the same BSN program (my first choice) and then two others. I'll be done with all pre-reqs at that time and will have a better chance of getting into my first choice and, for sure, my two fall backs.
Applied to the 3 schools which were geographically avail to me and was accepted at all 3. When I got my notification from my first choice, I immediately notified the school that I had accepted a spot in to free up the spot for another. Got a call from someone from that school to make sure that I was serious about my change in plans.
I only applied to one, the only Accelerated BSN in my city. They only look at GPA, and mine is .4 over what they usually go down to, so that doesn't worry me. What does is that I'm relying on what the admissions director has told me in person and confirmed twice: that although their new stated policy is that you must have completed all prereqs before applying, they are not going to enforce that requirement this semester and possibly next. She said that they just changed it - and I don't know, it's only my second semester in the state - and they don't want to make anyone sit out a semester who wasn't already planning on it.

I applied to 5 schools. Had to take the TEAS for one, the NET for another and the NLN for the rest.
So far, I've been wait listed for one, and accepted to another. Still waiting to hear from the rest, which includes my first choice!
