How many people are in your nursing class?

Published

I just went to check out my nursing roster and there are only 19 people starting my program in the fall! I don't know if they only had that many meet requirements or what. I thought in previous terms they accepted 40 but we only have 19 this year. Idk why but I cant complain about a small class size. How many are in your class? Id this strange to only have this many starting a class?

I start the 12 so,I will let you know..do you know what happens the first five weeks.Excited and nervous at the same time.

I'm going into my second semester. My class has two sections with 62 students in each section.

Think we are starting the ADN program with about 85 between two campuses. From what people say we will be lucky to graduate fifty![/quote']

Well now, isn't that encouraging??

We started with 14, going into my second semester we have 12, unless we pick up people but I won't know until September.

Started with 80 & down to 54! Sad. :(

My school accepts about 130 students per semester. I'm going into my 2nd semester and I heard that we lost about 1/3 of my class! I was shocked to hear that! But I think many people thought that they could work full time or not study.

125 in our class (BSN) labs and clinicals have 8-11 people each.

I haven't had orientation yet (bsn program) for this big private school, but last year they had 60 students. I am part of a satellite campus as well. The main campus accepts 80 and another satellite campus accepts 60 as well. So its a total of about 200 students. This school accepts students twice a year. Fall and Spring. But from what I have heard (not confirmed)my campus(don't know about the other campuses) has expanded the class size and instead of 60 it will be at least 85 or a bit more, since several students flunk a their first semester. (Its a very intense program). I guess when I have orientation in 2 weeks I will know exactly how many classmates I will have. For my satellite campus only (not the other two) : the students are divided into two groups. Those that are in the scholars program of a hospital and those who are not .(We have different professors and do our clinicals in different location). I am in the program, and there are 50 students. The other group should have at least 24 , but its probably more. So you can infer many students apply to my satellite campus, since those in the scholars program have a full paid tuition scholarship.

I was accepted into another school (bsn as well) that only accepted 100 students once a year and this is at a very large public university.

Nursing school is not easy , some people are just not cut out for it .

They accepted 60 students for my ADN program, but only 56 started. We were down to 40 after our second semester, but there are 70 starting our third semester with people who failed and LPNs joining our class. Its the biggest class our program has ever had.

We were usually split 50 for fall and 50 for spring, but now they've combined the two for fall start only....so 98 total in one class. Should be interesting!!
