I live in Florida too, to many nursing schools and graduates not enough open positions available.

Hello everyone! I have to write a paper (Evidence-Based (EBP) Scholarly Paper /more of a literature review than a research paper since its only 3-4 min long) on any topic relevant to nursing. Any ideas? Thanks :)

I looked it up! That's very good you have a good work environment. Many are not so fortunate.

I believe an accelerated BSN for those a prior degree is the way to go. (Some programs can be completed in 1-1/2 years.) Now a days many places are not going to look at you without prior nursing experience for a NP position. (Practically everyone is going back to school and pursuing more education) The BSN experience will definitely make a difference pursing your MSN-NP education later. After you have the necessary classes you can apply to the program. You do many community colleges are now offering classes online. (If the class is not one of the science you can take it online) If you do take online classes you may be able to take more than one class. I would try to finish as soon as possible.(Because courses do have a shell-life). Have you considered Health Care Administration? (Another BA degree) (Finding a career in this field will open up grater opportunities than your current position offers.) (Opportunities such a networking..foot in the door..getting your name on the payroll....etc..) Good luck in all your future endavors.

You will need to contact both schools to see if you have a shot or not. Did you retake those F's/W classes? What classes where they? Hopefully your bad grades are not in the science classes. Because if they are you may/will have trouble getting in most school you apply to . Your overall GPA is a 3.5? And all your science are 4.0? If that's your GPA you have a great shot. Am a small and I got a 04. They have lab coats to try on in the NSU store in Davie/Ft. Laduradle campus.

Yes Call!! It might have been a glitch in the system or any other petty reason. Don't live with regret. You can learn so much from the recruiter. You should take advantage of all your opportunities. The most they can tell you is no.

I love it!!! I start nursing school in a week as well. My orientation is in two days. I have butterfly's in my stomach and cant wait to start!!! In my case I didn't have many deadlines since my clinicals don't begin until my second semester and don't have my immunizations due till a month after school start. I did have to have the Certified Background done before orientation. (But I completed this a while ago. )
