Georgetown Online FNP program
As Callthenavynurse said, I think they wait until they get all parts of the app before sending the 'whole packet' to the faculty review. I got an email from my counselor saying my app had been sent to the faculty review. You should definitely contact your counselor to check on the status! Hope this helps and good luck!!!!

Yeah... although it's been just a few days since I submitted mine, this whole wait game is already killing me!!! I just keep thinking back to the day I bombed that interview.. sigh... oh well, what could we do.. Same! I've been getting emails from Simmons and now from USC. But I just opened up my Spam and found that USC has been sending me emails since late March (which is before I submitted my app to GU). Have you gotten your temporary username and password for MyAccess? I've seen some people talking about the MyAccess status change where it said 'please contact admin counselor' and a link to pay their deposit and they ended up getting accepted to the program, but my counselor hasn't given me any info on that website....

My counselor said it would take 2-4 weeks after app goes to faculty for review. He also said he's seen some applicants getting a decision within a few days -- didn't tell me if it was an acceptance or denial. But I've also read some posts here that it took 4-6 weeks for some people to get acceptance letter too!

I did a lot the last couple days! Submitted my app and did the live interview, which I completely bombed. I got extremely nervous that I literally just froze at each question that popped up on the screen. I blanked and stumbled for answers...... I hope they take nerves of an applicant into account when reviewing the whole application stuff... I'm just so disappointed in myself. Sigh... Have you heard back yet?

Yeah I'd definitely prefer video essays over such a weird live, recorded interview! It does sound like the questions are very general since the counselor who's there during the interview is present basically just to record the whole thing. So you don't get to ask questions or talk to them during the interview, and you are just answering the prompts given to you. Ahhhh

Yeah... when I talked to my admission counselor, the decision would be made a little quicker than the ones for the May or July cohorts... I don't know how it works like that tho No, I haven't scheduled my interview yet. Still working on writing the statement of purpose... Speaking of the interview.. were you given a chance to ask them questions? I'm trying to just focus on my purpose statement, but I can't stop thinking about the interview at the same time! It's gonna feel so weird talking to the webcam by myself answering the prompts... What would you say about the interview? Was it okay for you?

Are you applying for the September cohort? They are probably busy with applications for the July Cohort right now, I believe? Ah.. I think 2-4 weeks is fairly quick to hear back about the decision, but yes, the wait is gonna be nerve-wracking. Anxious! Nervous! Stressful! I feel your pain:scrying: Let me know if you hear back from them! :)

Thank you for your help again, Callthenavynurse15! I'm sure you will get a positive news soon!!!! :) I'm still working on my application and so stressed out already hahaaa:rolleyes: The admission counselor told me the buckets A, B, and C are pretty much the same. Which one did you choose? I'm just so stressed to the point where I'm nervous about such a simple thing!! such as choosing one out of three buckets! Gahhhhh

Thank you, Callthenavynurse15! I definitely like the idea of having the video essay instead since you would already have questions given to you beforehand and you could just practice, practice, and practice and you're done Would you mind sharing some types of questions that were asked to you during the interview? I really have NO idea of what the 'personality' questions would be like..... would it be something like 'what would your friend say about you?' or 'how do you work under stress/pressure' type of questions? X( Sorry for bothering too much and thank you for your help! :)

Thank you, Callthenavynurse15 for your quick reply! Wow it sounds a little..intense..... Was it similar to a typical job interview questions, in which they ask you about behavioral questions and clinical scenario questions? I hate those 'tell me about a time when.....' type of questions!!! And how long did it take for you to answer all questions on the powerpoint slide?? Thanks!

Hi guys, I'm working on my application for Georgetown's online FNP program and found out that they now have an interview instead of the video essay submission. Has anyone had an actual interview with one of their Admission Counselors yet? If any, would you please share your experiences? Any tips on acing the interview? :) Thanks in advance!

New Grad - Wait time for an interview email/call? Help, please!
Hello everyone, this is a new grad nurse searching for a job since July. I have applied to some large hospitals in VA and D.C. area with absolutely no luck. Two weeks ago, I applied to Washington Hospital Center for their RN residency program, but I still haven't received any email or call for an interview. Should I give up on this? I know 2 weeks is not a long wait time for interview calls since the hospital is getting tons of applications for the program, but I am getting more nervous every day The program starts in the middle of October and it's already September! Arg Another question is... when I looked up on the internet for job openings, I noticed that some job postings were created 1-2 months ago. If these positions are still open and let me submit my applications, does this mean that there is a chance that I would be considered for the job although the openings were posted on the website some months ago? I'm confused... It is so hard for new grads to find a job these days, and I'm getting more nervous and anxious as time passes by. I only applied to 3 hospitals for 5 positions in total and am already discouraged I think I have to move on and start applying for jobs at small practices, too. Please help me decide what to do next! 1. Giving up on the RN residency program job or wait? The generic follow-up email says only applicants being considered for an interview would be contacted. Should I think that I am rejected since it's been 2 weeks since I applied and have received no email/call for an interview? 2. Applying for job openings that have been posted for months and that let me submit my applications? Chances of getting hired? Do the employers even consider applicants who submit their applications this late? Hope everyone is doing well and having a great day. Thank you in advance, Nurse Hailey

Online job application and its status! Help!
Thank you everyone for the replies!!! :) I called, but she didn't answer the phone, so i just left a message saying that i'm a new grad and was given this number to call from my friend and the unit manager, noticed the status change on the web, and wanted to find out the reason for that. Was it inappropriate that i asked her the reason for the status change? :***: Also, I said that i would send her a copy of my resume and cover letter by email. This was done on Friday in the afternoon, and if she doesn't reply to my email or call me back in next few weeks, is it okay to call her one more time? or is it too annoying? How long does it ususally take for a recruiter to call an applicant back? Help! Don't know what to say if i'm allowed to call one more time... argggg Everything is new and so hard for a job hunting beginner in nursing field! Thanks for helping :)
