How many hours do you study per day?

Or, what's the most you've done?

I study 3 hours a day for my Health Science class (A&P & Micro), and at least 30 minutes for Chemistry. Last week I had a Chemistry test, so I studied extra, about 4 1/2 hours a day. Now I have an Exam on Monday that I'm concerned about, so I think I've studied five hours today so far, and I'll do at least 1-2 more. Sometimes I wonder how I do this and how long I can keep up the pace, only a few weeks into the semester!

Of course, you should see my house! :uhoh21:

Good topic. Most students who do study as they should will not admit to other students how much they study. It seems to be some sort of ego thing. How often do you hear from an A student "oh I just skimmed the notes briefly before the exam." This leads those who put in many hours studying to the erroneous conclusion that something is wrong with them that they have to study so much.

I myself spend massive hours on studying. It is highly dependent upon the class. I think A&P required the most study time of any class for me.

Ditto. I follow the old formula: Two to three hours of study time per week for every hour spent in class. A&P really sucks up my time. On the other hand, I never find myself panicking or cramming.

I'm not sure what you count as studying. Just doing homework and readings, I'd say about 1-2 hours per day. For quizes and tests, I usually add another 2-4 hours of 'hard' study time prior to the exam.

It varies by the day, however on average it is about 3 hrs per day. I am only taking A&P. So far I am getting an A. I know that if I didn't put in that amount of time, an A would be a pipe dream.

I am certainly not one of those people I am an A student and am happy to tell people I study ALL THE TIME. I work really hard for my A's and I don't mind people knowing it LOL

Same here....Input=Output!

I must admit, I spend about 2-3 hours a day at least. Microbiology requires a bit more than most of the others I must admit, but I must say, I am happiest when I am studying.

It makes my leisure time a real treat. Today, I only put in about an hour, and that was after I swore I wouldnt pick up a book.

I love school.

I'm actually shocked at how much I study, and even more shocked at how much I enjoy studying!! *lol*

I study about 2 hours a day on Anatomy (I'm taking A&P I right now... since my college was stupid and made me take pre-a&p which was absolutely rediculous!)

But my other courses only get about a half an hour most days. Honestly, I find Sociology fascinating... but I can get my homework done quickly!

Wow, there is no way I'd have time to study that much. I work full-time, so I tend to only study (or do homework) 1 or 2 days a week. A & P (I & II) took the most time and there were some weeks that I spent 10 hours on it (including the lab for that week). Micro had a few weeks like that too, but not as many. Patho was the only class where I actually sat down and studied for an exam, usually 2 or 3 hours before an exam. I have never read everything in any chapter of my books. I only stop to read things that are complicated or that I don't understand after a quick glance at it. I got A's in all 4 classes. But I'm older and have a lot of previous education and work experience, so I learn things really quickly. I couldn't have done that at 18.

You suck. No, umm, really...I'm happy for you. :chair:

Wow it sounds like you guys all study alot, but I think i'm the person you are talking about in your post. I study about 1hr some days of the week, other days I don't even study at all. 2 days before an exam I will read my notes 2-3 times before I go to bed, The day before I read them 1-2 times outloud before I go to be, then the day before I might just skim the notes. I have never hard studied 4-5 hours like it seems alot of other people do.

To this my reply is when I talk to people I try to encourage them not to study so much that they lose sleep, and that maybe their study techniques are actually holding them back.

Just some thoughts that came to my mind when I read this. Also I just applied to my nursing program with a 4.0 gpa, I am syched!
