  1. I just finished my Unit 4 test (DNA and all that "fun" stuff!) and after the last two units (All the chemistry stuff! I was worried that my grade would stay down (I'd gotten a C on the last two tests) but I got an A!! (93%!!!!)
  2. I wish you the best of luck! As you've mentioned, you have grown up a lot since your last attempt. I've noticed in many of my pre-req courses that success is really based on your drive. Even if you find the material difficult, I've noticed the students who really have the drive succeed, they may work harder but they succeed. I wish you the best of luck :)
  3. I'm loving my classes!! I'm taking A&P I, and my instructor is awesome! She's very encouraging, and she's a ton of fun! (Yes, even though it's online!) And while I'm hating hte Chemistry stuff, I'm looking forward to everything else (and still not doing too bad!)
  4. Winter Park is a great community, but as said it is a REALLY small town! (My husband and I have looked into moving there...) The entire population of that county is something like 12,000 most of the year! So that severely limits the amount of jobs in the area!! So I would definately look into all of that! As mentioned above, Steamboat does have a hospital, although I'm not sure if they hire new grads...
  5. I'm another who loves online courses! Sometimes they're VERY difficult, having to be very self motivated! But I really like being able to "go to class" at 3 in the morning if that's what suites my need this week. I started taking online courses with my previous major, thinking that it would be the easy way out, but honestly I feel like I've learned more by having to study harder! Plus I tend to zone out during lectures... this way there is no zoning out!
  6. I'm having a little bit of trouble understanding DNA and it's structure! Honestly, it seems so overwhelming to me! I'm curious if anyone has any good weblinks to help me understand it a little better? (Or maybe if you could talk with me VIA PM to understand it!!) I read this part of the chapter 3 times and I'm still not understanding it all!! I mean, I get the Chromatin (I think!) but when I get into the "molecular level" of DNA (Nucleotides and Nitrogenous) I'm just beside myself!! I would really appreciate any help!
  7. Hello Everyone! I just found this thread (and this website!) I'm currently taking A&P one, I'm on the third Unit (Cells and Tissues) and so far I'm really enjoying this class! Which is nothing short of a miracle since in my past I was always so confused by Biology as a whole. I am taking the course via distance learning. So it's a bit more difficult, as I want to be EXTRA sure I understand everything! So I hope that this discussion is a great resource!
  8. I'm actually shocked at how much I study, and even more shocked at how much I enjoy studying!! *lol* I study about 2 hours a day on Anatomy (I'm taking A&P I right now... since my college was stupid and made me take pre-a&p which was absolutely rediculous!) But my other courses only get about a half an hour most days. Honestly, I find Sociology fascinating... but I can get my homework done quickly!
  9. I'm in an odd situation right now. I'm taking my pre-req's at the local community college. The neat thing about the state of Colorado is that every school I've talked to will take the credits as a transfer, and so by the end of this semester I'm going to be applying to schools. However, I'm just curious what some of the "Must Ask" questions you have before applying to nursing schools?
